Top Albums for the Summer

Rj Goodwin
Self Made Volume 1.

This could very well be the most well-rounded album of the summer. This is the first compilation album of Rick Ross' Maybach Music label. It features Rick Ross, who brings his classic lyrical dexterity to the album. Whale, the possible rookie of the year in the rap industry. Meek Mill, he might be a surprise to many who haven't heard him before. And lastly, new artist by the name of Pill.

Features include Jadakiss, Jeramiah, Teedra Moses, Currency, and J. Cole. Surprisingly no feature from Lil Wayne on this album. Each feature did justice to each song. With this album you get classic Rick Ross over fresh banging beats in songs like Tupac's back, Big Bank, I'ma Boss and Pacman. Also, there a few slower tracks that have single written all over the, like Play Your Part, and The Way. This is going to be a hot album all summer and despite a few songs by Pill you can listen to this album all the way through.

Glee: The Music Volume 6.

For all you Glee lovers( according to the astronomical rating there are a lot of them) their sixth album of just music will be a must hear. And to those who don't watch Glee I would recommend this album for the summer. They do renditions of past successful songs like: Isn't She Lovely, Feel Unpretty, and Try a Little Tenderness. All which are empowering songs about being yourself. The album has eighteen songs on it and it should be a top-selling of pop albums for the summer. Notable features on the album include: Lady Gaga, Adele and Fleetwood Mac.

This Is Country Music
By Brad Paisley

For all you country lovers Brad Paisley's new album should be a great listen this summer. This album has the classic Brad Paisley sound of a great guitar and a velvet smooth voice. This album is full of feel-good Nashville country music. The use of instruments are very vital to the success of this album. It really adds to the music rather than overshadow it. Some notable features on this album is Carrie Underwood, Alabama, Sheryl Crow, Don henly, and Blake Shelton. The Nashville legend didn't seem to miss a beat with his new album country lover's should love this fifteen songs album.

Frankie Ballard
By Frankie Ballard

While some country lovers may love Brad Paisley's smooth laid back type of country some might enjoy Frankie Ballards' type of country. He is a guitar virtuoso turned country artist. If their was a heavy-metal country type genre he would be in it. He relies heavily on instruments to carry songs and nice catchy hooks. This is his debut album so even though there are only eight songs on the album look for more from this up an comer in the future.

Something Bigger
By Mary Mary

For gospel lovers this was a very anticipated album. After ten years in the industry these two ladies haven't crossed over to secular music and are still putting out good music. This album isn't any different; they have many uplifting and up-tempo songs they are famous for. This is a solid gospel album that doesn't lose the message of loving God in fast upbeat songs. Some highlight songs of this album include homecoming "Glory", "Catch Me", "Surivive", "Blind" and "Walking" of course.

Other notable albums for the summer should be Lil Wayne's Carter IV. This album is due to drop over the summer but the way rap albums are pushed back no telling when it will actually come out. But, regardless of when it comes out it will be a number one seller.

Lady Gaga's cd "Born this Way," will also be a hot cd for the summer. You either love her or hate her but one thing Lady Gaga does is sales albums. Her controversial persona is exhibited through her new album. Many of her songs on this album were heart-felt songs. If you are a Lady Gaga fan you should love this album.

Another good rap album for the summer is Jadakiss' "Top five Dead or Alive". Its has not been released yet but it should be any day now. Anyone who can appreciate a good lyricist will like Jadakiss' new album.

Killer Mike's latest album Pl3dge should be another good listening album for the summer. This is his most complete album. Killer Mikes combines banging down south beats with pretty good lyrics. Anyone who likes southern rap should like this album.
