Without any ado, here are the top all-time romantic movies at the domestic box office - the five romance movies that audiences made the largest statements about, through their viewership:

#1 Romantic Movie (Domestic):

Titanic (1997) - PG-13 - Written and Directed by James Cameron

The 1997 romance "Titanic" made $600 million at the domestic box office, according to Box Office Mojo. James Cameron's "Titanic" has the largest domestic box office earnings for a romance, to date, and the second largest domestic box office overall. In 1997 and 1998, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet carried Titanic to number one at the box office for fifteen consecutive weeks. The historical romance actually made more money, $71 million, in its second week than in its' first week, $52 million.

#2 Romantic Movie (Domestic):

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) - PG-13 - Directed by David Slade

The 2010 romance "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" made $300 million at the domestic box office. The third Twilight movie is the second highest revenue generating romance at the box office and 36th overall, to date. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene rode the teen, vampire romance to first place at the box office only twice. However, in its' first two weeks, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" made $203 million at the box office.

#3 Romantic Movie (Domestic):

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) - PG-13 - Directed by Chris Weitz

The 2009 romance "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" made $296 million at the domestic box office. The second Twilight movie has the third largest domestic box office earnings for a romance, to date, and 37th overall. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke and Ashley Greene rode the teen, vampire romance to first place at the box office for only the first two weeks, like "Eclipse." However, in those first two weeks, "The Twilight Sag: New Moon" grossed $239 million at the domestic box office - that's 80% of its' domestic gross total.

#4 Romantic Movie (Domestic):

My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) - PG - Written by and Starring Nia Vardalos

The 2002 comedic romance "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" grossed $241 million at the domestic box office. It ranks as the fourth largest domestic box office gross for a romance, to date, and 69th overall. Nia Vardalos and the rest of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" did not see number one at the box office until its' 21st week in theaters. The week of September 6th- 12th, the Greek romance made $14 million, in the only week it ranked first in box office gross.

#1 Romantic Movie (Adjusted for Ticket Inflation):

Gone With the Wind (1939) - G - Directed by Victor Fleming

The 1939 historical epic romance "Gone With the Wind" only grossed $189 million at the domestic box office. A "Gone With the Wind" re-issued generated an additional $9 million in the latter part of the 20th century, giving the epic film a domestic lifetime gross of $198 million. However, adjusted for ticket price inflation, "Gone With the Wind" has the highest grossing domestic box office all time with $1.6 billion. Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh starred in this epic movie spanning three hours and fifty eight minutes, which has stood the test of time.

    I've seen all of these except the Twilight movies. Titanic was the best for guys because it was also an action movie!
