Top Apple App IOS Development Forums

Phillip Chan

Have you ever played a game on your iPod or iPhone, and thought, "I could make this sooo much better?" Well, with some programming skills, graphic design work and a license purchase, you can! However, making an app can be especially daunting if you have never done so before. A great place to start learning, collaborating and finding out exactly what it takes to succeed as a mobile game developer are game development forums. Here, you can find tips from those involved in the industry (often indie developers but sometimes also guys involved in companies like EA, Ubisoft, Valve and more), meet up with others interested in working on game projects, and get feedback on your work. Check out these top picks for Apple game app game making forums today!

TouchArcade
Ok, TouchArcade is THE website you need to be visiting, posting on their forums, and sticking to, in general. It's one of the most active Apple game app forums and websites that I have found and it offers an immense amount of resources for budding game makers. The website itself is focused on reviewing the latest game releases but the forum covers every aspect of mobile gaming, be it in announcing the latest games, or, best of all, developing them. The game development subsection of the TouchArcade forum is excellent and a must-visit for anyone interested in developing games for iPod, iPhone and iPad.

IphoneDevForums
IphoneDevForums is one of the nicest organized forums for mobile developers to visit. There are several tutorials, rated as beginner, intermediate and advanced, all on this website, helping out those seeking more knowledge into make iPod, iPhone or iPad games. The overall forum activity level is a bit low, as compared to some of the other game development forums, but still noticeably active. Definitely add them to the list of Apple app development forums to visit!

IpadForums
iPadForums is mostly geared, obviously, to the iPad crowd, but as this is a very important section of the game app market, it is worth noting. They don't have a strict "development" subsection in their forum, but the "Apps" sub-forum is worth visiting, posting in and using for getting feedback on any iPad game apps you are working on. You'll notice right away just how busy this forum is, and that's one of the great things about it-lots and lots of people using it and a great customer base to sample and get feedback from.
