Top Asian Foods for Vegetarians

Carmen Isom
In La, there are so many places to eat, especially if you're a vegetarian. Around the country it's not like that so much because this is a primarily a meat-eating place. But in some areas like big cities, you can find restaurants that are just for vegetarians. It s more likely in Los Angeles.

But if you're going out with friends and you just want to go to a regular restaurant, it would be hard pressed to find anything but veggie burgers for yourself to eat. Here are some regular restaurants you can go to that have a nice rounded vegetarian selection and some things to get at other restaurants that may not be too veggie friendly.

Indian Food. This is probably the best food to have for vegetarians that is not tofu or veggie burgers. Indian food can be both spicy and filled with vegetarian dishes. Somosas are filled with potatoes and other vegetables and is a favorite of the Indian culture. There are many other Indian dishes that you will find in any Indian restaurant that have nothing to do with meat like pita. There are also many different types of curries that are spicy or non-spicy. There is vegetarian masala and matar paneer which is also a curry with peas.

Lebanese Food. The next best place to go for many different dishes of vegetarian food. They have lots of vegetables that come with entrées. Plus they have entrees that include hummus, a great treat, falafel made from chic peas and baba ganush, made from eggplant. All of these dishes are hearty and delicious depending on where you go. You can get soups, rice, grape leaves and still other kinds of veggie foods that will fill you up.

Thai Food. If you like spices, this is the place to go. They have a everything from rice to tofu to wontons and such other things like a Chinese restaurant would have. They also have eggplant and other dishes that are full of protein and very hearty.

Chinese Food. We all know about Chinese food. It has the fried rice, the wontons, and the tofu. But Chinese food has so many other accessories when you go to a buffet. They have vegetables soup and deserts, many deserts. They usually have eggs in their food so be careful. And sometimes they cook their tofu with chicken broth so you should ask before ordering.

Eggplant and other vegetables. Eggplant is offered in all of these Asian cuisines. If cooked right, eggplant can be like a slice of steak or it can be out in a dish as an complement. Other vegetables like Portobello mushrooms are also cooked as something that be eaten like a steak. Full of protein and helpful to the teeth, mushrooms are in most Asian dishes. But Portobello mushrooms are the ones to really ask for.
