Top Baby Toys of All-Time

There are many toys available to babies, but which ones are the best of all-time?

Glow worm Lullaby
This toy comes with a variety of six different songs choices, and has a soft glowing face. These snuggly worms have been around since the early 1980's to help generations of babies calm down for their bedtime. When you first get the glow worm, you will find there are three different options for running the music on demo mode, on full play mode with light or the lighted face with out music. This comes in handy since not all children appreciate the night light feature until they are older. By the time they are old enough to turn the worm on by themselves they will need you to turn it on again. When the glow worm reaches the end of the song her face's light will slowly start to fade. This toy runs on three AAA batteries and only costs about ten dollars. The Hasbro Company has come out with many different versions of the glow worm; the latest model is from 2006.

Super saucer / Exersaucer
Walkers can be dangerous; Experts agree that a stationary activity center is safer for your child. These allow the baby to remain standing in an upright position while playing. What's great about the Super saucer and Exersaucer is that they let the baby jump. You can stabilize the base by extending the legs from the underside or leave them up to help your baby work on his balance. They come in many different colors and with a variety of smaller toys that are attached around the seat. An added feature allows it to grow with your child since they come with the adjustments for three height settings this toy can be enjoyed for a long time.

Play mat
So many companies have come out with their own version of this popular toy. These mats will help your child stay entertained while he enjoys tummy time. Many of the mats come with flexible arms that extend over the floor. They come with a variety of hanging toys, but once your child starts pulling these toys onto himself it's time for him to move onto another toy. Since this toy has the ability to fold into itself it saves space after fulfilling the babies playtime needs.

Board books
Reading is extremely important when it comes to the development of your child. You can pick up these durable books in many classic favorites. You may want to pick up some to incorporate into your child's bedtime routine. Some you might want to consider include Good Night Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, Guess How Much I Love You by Sam Mcbratney, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Board books may cost as much as ten dollars per book, but they are very durable.
