Most of the shows are like MTV Cribs with a ghetto family twist. But it's all good; because these shows are definite must sees. Check out the top black Reality T.V. shows of 2008.
If you like real life dramas, then you have to tune into the Keyshia Cole show on BET. This show is packed full of family brawls, love, and stuggles. The show is centered around the life of rising star Keyshia Cole, whose fame popped out the midst of abandonment by her mother Frankie. Keyshia and her sister Neffie try to cope with their mother's past crack addiction by trying to rekindle a healthy relationship with her. Through all of the fame and fortune, anyone can see that Keyshia's life still has a hint of ghetto fabulousness and real life problems. Keyshia struggles constantly to get her mother and sister on good terms and also bring her foster mother and real mother together. Although Keyshia is pouring in the dough and living a lavish lifestyle her fame and fortune just won't fix all of her problems. Tune into the Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is on BET Tuesday nights.
Imagine the weed smokin', ghetto hustlin', P.I.M.P., Snoop Dogg showing the world how to be a great dad. Well if you haven't tuned in to the popular Snoop Dogg Fatherhood show you definitely have to check it out. It was a little hard for me to imagine a major rap artist actually raising decent kids, but I have to admit, Snoop has done a great job. He is also not too bad of a husband either. Although his world is centered around his music, he still has plenty of time to squeeze his family in. This show is very interesting. I think that it is a great way to break the stereotypes of Black fathers never taking care of their kids and running away from marriage. Snoop portrays a somewhat positive image for the public on his show Fatherhood.
All parents have rules but this parent has hundreds. Check out the new reality TV series Coolio's Rules. Yes, you heard it, Coolio. You remember the song Gangsta's Paradise back in the 1990's or the song Fantastic Voyage? The crazy haired rapper is back at it and this time he's bringing his kids along for the ride. Coolio's show is based on gaining a relationship with his three teenage daughters and son after neglecting them during his high moments of fame. He struggles with raising his children, getting back on the music scene, and starting his catering "Ghetto Chef" business. I really like this show because Coolio is really trying his best to be a good father and give his kids a great life, even if all of them don't see it yet. Check out Coolio's Rule on Oxygen.
