Top Boston Clubs for Singles

Sophia S. Mark
Being single in Boston is not so bad, there are plenty other single folk milling around and enough nightclubs and bars to keep them all entertained. Whenever I am in the city, there are a few spots that I now I can count on and consider some of Boston's best single clubs.

If you are looking for a great singles spot in Boston be sure to check out the following locations which offer everything from a laid back atmosphere to a pulsing club scene.

Venu, 100 Warrenton Street
Venu is definitely one of the hottest clubs in Boston to see or be seen, especially if you are single. Located in the theater district of Boston, the club is a mix of dance club, lounge and of course a popular pick up spot. The club does not get crowded till well after midnight, but if you don't want to be waiting in long lines plan on arriving early. The DJs spin just about every genre of music, but it will always be mixed into a decent dance beat so listen up for techno, Latin beats, hip hop, pock, and some disco and house music. No matter what night you go though, guys will always be cruising and most of the ladies will be flaunting, but the club is big enough so that you never feel like you are in the middle of a meat market.

Gypsy Bar, 116 Boylston Street
I love this spot because of its name, but there really is so much more to it than that. Gypsy Bar gives you that private club feel and service, without actually closing its doors to the public. A good mix of singles fill the place every weekend, from new to their profession twenty something year olds to bored college co-eds and even quite a few seasoned professionals. Private and public events are held in the club frequently making it one of Boston's IT spots for singles, celebrities and those looking to get into the industry.

Phoenix Landing, 512 Massachusetts Avenue
For those who are looking for a more casual atmosphere popular with singles, Phoenix Landing is a great option where folks who know how to have a good time hang out in the evening. Set up as an Irish Pub, the bar shares space with a dance floor that can get pretty packed on the weekends. Don't worry about dressing up or getting in, jeans and a t-shirt will do it and there is rarely a line to enter.

The Western Front, 343 Western Avenue
I like to head to The Western Front when I feel like enjoying a night in Boston, but I don't want to put up with rowdy, noisy or drunk crowds. A little more mature and live entertainment to boot make this one of Boston's best spots to meet folks, kick back and let the music take over.
