The Rockefeller Christmas tree is around 65 feet tall and 35 feet wide. It takes as many as five miles of lights to decorate the tree. In 2010, the Christmas lights are due to be lit up on November 30 th . The tree will then be taken down on January 2, 2011. The tree is usually lit up from 5:30am to 11:30 pm each day except for Christmas day and on New Year's eve. On Christmas day, the lights are on for 24 hours and on New Year's eve, the lights are turned off at 9pm.
