1. Wesley Johnson - junior - Syracuse
All the raves and reviews about this guy are proving to be accurate as he has led the Orangemen to an 11-0 start to the season. He put on one of the best performances of the season so far when he poured in 25 points and 8 rebounds against then #2 ranked North Carolina. At 6-7 he can score off the dribble as well as knock down the open three pointer. He has a multifaceted game and makes this Syracuse team as scary as ever. Averaging 16.5 Pts, 8 Rebs and 2.5 Assists

2. John Wall - freshman - Kentucky
It's not even shocking anymore that the second best player in the country is only a Freshman. The definite first pick in next years NBA draft, this guy has lived up to the hype and more. Kentucky's 11-0 start is thanks a large part to Wall who has come through in the clutch numerous times early in the year as well as putting up big numbers statistically. His game winer against Uconn with under 20 seconds to go is one of three game winners he has had already with under 30 seconds to go in a game. Averaging 18 Pts, 7 Assists, and 4 Rebs

3. Damion James - senior - Texas
This 4th year starter is the emotional and physical leader of the 11-0 Longhorns. James has admirably led this young team to convincing wins over North Carolina and Michigan State back to back so far in this season. Dominating on the boards is what James has done throughout his career and this year is no exception. Plays best on the big stages with 25 points and 15 rebounds against North Carolina, and 23 PTs and 13 rebounds against MSU. Averages 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.

4. Greg Monroe - sophomore - Georgetown
The #1 rated player coming out of high school last year is finally putting the pieces together. Looking way more aggressive early in this season he has led the Hoyas to a great 10-1 start notching career highs in points (24) and rebounds (15) in a matchup against then ranked Butler. Not to mention he is widely regarded as the best passing center at the college level. Averaging 15.2 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists

Although his team has been upset twice, Luke has played exceptionally well in every game this season and has the team poised for a post season run this year. Has had over 16 points in every games so far while shooting over 50 percent from the field. If he continues to put up these numbers and gets his team on track, he will be in the running for player of the year. Averaging 24.5 Pts, 10 Rebs, 2 Assists
