1. Richard Nicoll. Born in London, Richard Nicoll grew up in Australia and is still hoping for more idiosyncracies. He is inspired by Linder Sterling and Arthur Russel. He is enlivened by creative, unique, and empathetic customers. He is always happy to recommend the proper outfit for the proper occasion.
2. Rebecca & Penelope. A pearl boutique! With the concept, "Pearls for Everyday", Rebecca & Penelope jewellery designs combine tradition and folklore with a twist of simplicity. Timeless symbols of purity, unique designs come alive, eternal to enjoy. All pieces are hand made in England. All pearls are beautifully made.
3. Mario Schwab. A Londonite of Greek and Austrian descent, Mario Schwab has won the Best New Designer award in 2006 and the Swiss Textiles Award in 2007. His mantra for this season is "Destruction, revolution, and harmony." He seeks to add to the celebration of London Fashion Week's 25 anniversary with his set of designs for Autumn/Winter 2008 and 2009. Be sure to check them out!
4. Minna. With 100% manufacturing in the UK, and influence from French designers, Minna has the stockists' attention. Add to that her penchant for antique market finds, and strolling, with a mission. With her lace and silk textiles, Finnish designer Minna Hepburn keeps her embroidery environmental and ethical. With her Spring/Summer collection for 2009 already available, Minna is sure to sparkle, and sparkle for a season of lily pads and buttercups.
5. Thomas Murphy. Based in Brighton, he has designed and produced shoes for numerous clients. Incorporating the aging process with hand-made care, each shoe design's construction shows the uniqueness of the changing seasons. Expect to see the oxidation colorization process expanded in this year's London Fashion Week. More themes and processes will be further explained during the exhibition.
