Top Disc Golf Courses in Wisconsin

Quenton Kappids
Sandy Point Resort-Lac du Flambeau

This private disc golf course is very well kept, and it is very cheap to play. You can choose whether to play 22 holes or 27. The course is heavily wooded, as it is in the northwoods of Wisconsin, so expect to hit a few trees. There are multiple tees on each hole to suit all ability levels. Also on site is the Wisconsin Disc Golf Hall of Fame. Since this course is relatively far from most civilization, you may want to take advantage of the resort, which has cabins on Squaw Lake. Whether you spend the weekend or just the day, this disc golf course is worth the drive.

Silver Creek Park-Manitowoc

This is arguably one of the best disc golf courses in the state, with a great variety of obstacles to face over the course of the 18 holes. It includes a hole that crosses Silver Creek, a hole that goes up a 15% up-hill grade, and holes along the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan. This disc golf course features concrete tee pads on every hole. With many other disc golf courses within a few miles, such as Two Rivers and St. Nazianz, Manitowoc is a great place to start.

Grignon Park-Kaukauna

This disc golf course is challenging from the first tee onward, where you start by throwing diagonally across a sledding hill. There is a lot of elevation change here, which provides plenty of obstacles alone. To add to that, there are plenty of trees, blind shots, and long holes to bring out the best you have to offer. When you are finished with this course, there are 10 other courses within a half hour's drive to try.

Standing Rocks-Stevens Point

Named for the boulders that speckle this disc golf course, Standing Rocks can be a very frustrating course the first time you try it. In addition to the boulders, the disc golf course is heavily wooded and features many elevation changes. There are two gravel tee pads on each hole. Standing Rocks is one of three disc golf courses in the college town of Stevens Point, so you may want to try them all.

Vollrath Park-Sheboygan

Established in 1980, this is one of the oldest disc golf courses in Wisconsin. It is a relatively short course, with many holes going up and down the same hill, in the middle of the course. The "Lake Monster" is one of the longest holes of the course, and it goes along the Lake Michigan shoreline, so if your disc fades right, you might end up going for a swim.
