Top Drawer - a Mother's Mirth on Things of Worth

Souvenirs of Sentiment, Treasures of the Past, Memories of Lives Well Spent, and Things We Know Will Last

Linda Ann Nickerson

Peek inside my dresser drawer
To see what's tucked away,
Amid the lingerie and more
Are treasures from the day.

The day she stood and walked in place,
I secreted a shoe.
The day she won that swimming race,
I wrapped her ribbon of blue.

The day she learned to drive my car,
I packed an extra key,
The day she wished upon a star,
I wished her here with me.

Just look inside my dresser drawer;
You may see something lace,
But love is what you'll find, and more,
Our history to trace.

My secret spot holds treasures
With a meaning that is deep,
For motherhood is measured
By the things we choose to keep.

What's inside my dresser drawer?
Look and you will find
A mother's memories and more
And love that time's refined.
