Top Employee Christmas Gifts for Under $20

For the budget minded manager, finding employee Christmas gifts for that are appropriate and appreciated by each one of your employees is enough to blow the Christmas gift budget. What kinds of gifts will help you with this problem? Well, cheap ones will. But the key is to pick a cheaper employee Christmas gift that does not say you are cheap - but rather says you know them, their interests, and appreciate their hard work.

Coffee: You must have at least one person on your team that drinks coffee by the gallon. A pound of really nice coffee runs about $15 dollars. Your local coffee shop who roasts the beans daily would be a good choice - or better yet, visit sweetmarias.com and get some unroasted beans. All it takes is a hot air popcorn popper and 5 minutes to create extremely fresh coffee. To top off trimming the budget, most high quality unroasted beans cost less than seven dollars a pound.

Gift Cards: Many employees have a favorite place for lunch. Why not get a gift card for that location? Almost every restaurant has a gift card program so you can get them at any time. Since lunch is usually a cheaper meal, a twenty dollar gift card can be enough for two meals.

Movie Tickets: Movie tickets for two make a great employee Christmas gift too. Eight or Nine dollars will get you a set of two movie tickets. You can even order them online. Go to a) Wild About Movies and you can get them in batches of 6 for as low as six dollars and 10 cents each so you will need to divide them up into batches of two to stay under twenty dollars. These are only valid at AMC movie theaters so check to make sure you have an AMC movie theater nearby.

Books: If you have an employee who like to read, take a few moments to figure out what they like to read. Then got to Amazon.com and put that information into the search field. You will be presented with many options, but what you are looking for is the lists prepared by other people who also enjoy the same kind of books. Pick one off that list and get it. But be sure to get it someplace locally in case your employee has already read it.

On the other hand, if there is a particular skill your employee is struggling with, this might be the time to get them a book on that topic. Be prepared for a less than enthusiastic response however. The response will depend on your employee - so if you know your employees well you will know if this will be an appropriate gift.

Paid Time Off: In the American culture it is considered very good for a person to show their dedication to the company by putting in 50 to 60 hours a week. If you have an employee who performs well and puts in more than their share of time, a good gift might be a day off. Some companies human resource departments frown upon such actions so be sure to check with the human resources department first. However, for many employees this might be the best Christmas gift you could give them
