Many college students like myself prefer this dishwasher over larger ones because it is affordable and offers the basic dishwashing necessities. Being a smaller size makes it easier to incorporate into a smaller household as well. However, if you have a larger family, this one might not fit your needs. Available at Best Buy and Sears.
GE - 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless-Steel
This dishwasher fits 16 places in a Giant PermaTuf Tub. It has maximum capacity nylon racking which allows for space for dishes of various sizes and shapes. There are five cycles, including a speed cycle which washes and dries fast and effectively. The Piranha hard-food disposal makes pre-washing a thing of the past because it dissolves stuck on foods. I know of a family of four that has this dishwasher and loves it because it reduces their time of cleanup in the kitchen. This low-noise dishwasher runs for $539.99 and can be found at Best Buy and Sears.

Here's another budget dishwasher that delivers in the basic features and more. It costs $399.99. This dishwasher has a tall tub with 14 place settings, vinyl coated racks and 4 place settings. Their Quietseries 300 reduces the noise level of the machine while in use. They also have a sanitize option, as well as versatile loading options which allows for the washing of different sized dishes. Look for them at Sears and Best Buy.
