Top Five Books on Herbal Medicine

Five Best Books About Herbal Medicine

Book Number 1: "The Best Alternative Medicine," by Dr. Kenneth R. Pelletier. There are many books written about herbal medicine. The best book I have found on herbal medicine is "The Best Alternative Medicine," by Dr. Kenneth R. Pelletier (paper back). This book followed an extensive measure of research.

This research endeavor was financed by the National Institutes of Health. "The Best Alternative Medicine" is the initial book to render documented scientific answers to the many questions about this alternative-type of medicine.

Dr. Palletier is the Director of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Program at the Stanford University School of Medicine. "The Best Alternative Medicine" contains many explanations, experiences and instances of precise treatments, from a mass of therapies that include mind/body medicine, European herbal therapy, conventional Chinese medicine and also naturopathy and homeopathy. There is also a section of "The Best Alternative Medicine" that is laid out and bulleted with brief lucid researched information for a variety of conditions and illnesses. This book should be available at amazon.com.

Book Number 2: "New Medicine" speaks about what is called integrative medicine.
It is written by a team of leading health experts. This is a combination of modern wonder
drugs and advanced procedures combined with alternative medicine to kick-start the
healing course. This combination gives a greater measure of treatment than conventional
medicine can by itself. You should find this book on amazon.com, or in your local
bookstore, depending on where you live.

Book Number 3: "The Essential Book of Herbal Medicine," was written by Simon Y. Mills. This book takes us on a complete contemporary passage to herbal medicine. Although it is written more for those in the medical field, it can be quite useful for anyone who has an interest in herbal and/or alternative medicine. "The Essential Book of Herbal Medicine" would be a great addition to anyone's library, especially if you have a definite interest in herbal or alternative medical healing. You can find this book on amazon.com or in any well-stocked bookstore.

Book Number 4: "The Mayo Clinic Book of Alternative Medicine." From Tara Parker Pope, Health Journal columnist, Wall Street Journal:

"This book... has quickly become one of my favorites. If you're interested in taking a holistic approach to your health, combining the best of what conventional and alternative medicine has to offer, then this book is for you."

"The Mayo Clinic Book," discusses how one can achieve reduced arthritis pain, manage diabetes more proficiently and improve memory function and more. It was written by a group of medical experts.

Book Number 5: "Why Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and Spirituality?"

By Phillip J. Boyle

This book talks about conventional medicine being used with alternative medicine, and in some cases, spirituality. Somehow, it is believed by many that alternative or herbal medicine tends to have a spiritual connection or influence. Perhaps the spiritual tendency of such connections are best supported by healthcare entities that have religious alliances.
