3. Legally Blonde: Silly, frivolous, yet downright adorable are the qualities that make this 2001 film about a California sorority girl who goes to law school so appealing. Men may find the abundance of pink in main character Elle Wood's wardrobe too much to handle, as well as the implausible story line, yet this feel good comedy about achieving your dreams-and looking good while doing so is the perfect girl power film.

Pretty Woman: As unlikely as it seems that a film about a hooker would be one that so many women find romantic and endearing, Garry Marshall manages to accomplish just that in this 1990 movie which co-stars Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. This fairytale-esque plot which portrays Richard Gere as Edward, the white knight who saves Robert's character Vivian from her life of prostitution, works so well because of the chemistry between the leads and Vivian's cheeky nature which makes the relationship humorous. For the past sixteen years since it's release, this film has proven that it is the whole package when it comes to the chick flick genre and wholly deserves the number one spot on this list.
