Top Five Clutch NBA Shooters of All Time

Every top notch team has one guy they know they can turn to when they really need a bucket at the end of a game. Clutch shooters never go out of style in the NBA, and while there have been a whole bunch of them, only a few can make the top five of all time list. These are guys who proved they were absolutely fearless whenever the final shot needed to be taken. If you were the opposing team, your coach was hounding you to let anyone else on the other team beat you, but not this guy! Here are the top five clutch shooters in NBA history.

5. Robert Horry- Let's be honest here, Robert Horry is definitely not in the same league as the rest of the players on this list when it comes to overall basketball talent. Having said that, it is extremely hard to argue with his amazing last minute heroics. Many of his big shots were with the Lakers, most notably the shot that crushed the Sacramento Kings chances in the Western Conference Finals in 2002. Even after his career was essentially over as a full-time player, he hit game winning shots for the Spurs in 2005 and 2007.

4. Jerry West- Jerry West may have come from a small town in West Virginia, but he made a huge splash in Los Angeles. West was often known as "Mr. Clutch," because of his ability to make a play when the team needed it most. West showed up and put in his best performances during the playoffs, and was a vital part of the Lakers success in the 1960's.

3. Reggie Miller- Miller's amazing feat of eight points in 8.9 seconds in 1995 against the New York Knicks will be shown on highlight films for years to come. There is even a website called eight points in nine seconds, which is dedicated to the amazing feat. Miller made a habit of draining jumpers, especially three pointers, when his team was down and needed a bucket badly. Miller was always a pure shooter, and his ability to block out the pressure situations was amazing.

2. Larry Bird- The Celtics were a great team when Larry Bird was in the prime of his playing career. The biggest reason Bird qualifies as a clutch player is his ability to knock down shots for the entire fourth quarter of crucial games. Many times he stared down Wilkins, Johnson, and other greats and continually hit big shot after big shot in the clutch.

1. Michael Jordan- In fairness to the other guys on this list, I really don't think this one is close at all. Michael Jordan is the best basketball player ever, and he is also the single best clutch player of all time. Jordan braved double and triple teams to hit numerous memorable game winning shots for the Bulls as they stormed through the NBA in the 1990's. Michael Jordan is in a class by himself.
