The Top Five Coaches in the NFL
1. Bill Belichick- New England- Truthfully, I don't care for Bill Belichick because of his poor attitude, but there isn't any doubt that he deserves to be at the top of this list. Belichick is an amazing tactician that is great at adapting to what is going on during the course of the game. He has proven his flexibility time after time and his three Super Bowl titles have put him squarely at the top of this list.
2. Tony Dungy- Indianapolis- Dungy has transformed the Colts into a power year in and year out. Dungy also did a great job of turning around the Tampa Bay franchise when it was being left for dead by quite a few people. Dungy was always thought of as a defensive mastermind, but in recent years it has been the offense that has carried the Colts. Dungy is a class act that knows how to coach, and members of his team respect him very thoroughly.
3. Jeff Fisher- Tennessee- Jeff Fisher seems to be tremendous at getting the most out of his teams, which aren't always stacked full of talent. This year the Titans are 9-0 despite having no superstar and starting Kerry Collins at the quarterback spot after many NFL teams showed they didn't want the 36 year old veteran. Fisher is a great motivator and his teams are known for their intensity as well as their knowledge of the game.
4. Tom Coughlin- New York- This time last year the Giants fans were calling for his head, but my how times have changed in New York. After a stunning Super Bowl win and a 8-1 start to this season, he is on the top of the world in New York. Coughlin is a tough minded coach who still has the ability to pull his team together when it matters the most.
5. Jon Gruden- Tampa Bay- Gruden may be higher on this list if it weren't for his troubles with finding a quarterback to his liking, but he is clearly a very bright offensive mind who also happens to coach a team with a great defense. Tampa Bay never has that single superstar that puts them over the top, but they continue to win because they play very well as a team.
There are top five coaches in today's NFL. In the current NFL things can change very quickly so these coaches will have to be adapting constantly or they will be passed by other young brilliant coaches.

Post a CommentUsually in sports it's hard to find "a list" that is agreed upon through and through. This list I agree with from top to bottom-and yeah I dislike Belicheat, too. Lost all most all respect for him after video-gate or however it was coined.
I agree with all your picks; especially, Bill Belichik. Even with Tom Brady out for the season, Belichick has managed to keep the Patriots on course for the playoffs.
Nice work, I have been reading your football articles and added you to my favorite writers.
Go, coach Dungy! This man and his family have been members of the same church as us. They are what you see. Coach Dungy's class, loyalty, faithfulness and goodness run all the way thru him. It is no act.
