Top Five Diaper Bags

Amy Black
Taking baby places can be a grueling task. Before leaving, you think to yourself: "I will need a few diapers. Of course, I will also need wipes, so I will get those. Hmmm, but what if she gets grumpy or fidgety? I better take some toys. She will probably get hungry, so I better take some bottles and formula. What if it isn't enough formula? I better take at least two separate bottles with formula. Of course I will need a water bottle or two to fill the formula bottles with. You never know what can happen. Will that be enough toys? She could get tired of those. I better take a few more. What if her diaper soaks through and needs a change of clothes? I better get another pair of pants. If she dirties through the diaper, she might need another shirt as well (or onesie), so I better get that. I think I'm ready. Wow, that's a lot of stuff. Can my diaper bag hold everything?"

Does this sound familiar? If so, you might be interested in this list of the top five diaper bags that will hold everything you need, and more, without breaking your back or shoulder when carrying it.

Note: These are of my own opinion.

Number One

George Messenger Diaper Bag

The interior includes three pockets and a netted area to hold diapers, clothes, and more. The exterior has five different pockets for pacifiers, toys and wipes. It is waterproof so you are safe on the rainy days.

"This bag is great! It is covered in a plastic material, so it prevents it from getting soaked. If it were to rain... waterproof. There are a lot of pockets and places to put just about everything. I can fit 4 bottles, 2 outfits, 6 diapers, pacifiers, baby powder and cream, baby book, and still have room for more."- Buyer review

Number Two

Use the mini tote bag for quick outings and the bigger bag for all day outings, or use the main diaper bag and the mini tote as a matching purse for mommy. It is easy to clean and comes with a top-zip opening.

"I love this set. The big diaper bag is huge and holds everything I need or want to take with me for my [little one]. The bottle holder is insulated. The smaller bag works great for short trips OR a matching purse for mom. Love it, love it."- Buyer review

"These two bags are perfect! [The largest bag] is perfect for spare clothes, small toys, or anything else you might need for a baby... on a long day. Although there aren't any pockets inside, the pockets on the outside are just as useful. I would definitely recommend this product!"- Buyer review

Number Three

Number Four

Chelsea and Main- Flap Pocket Diaper Bag

Wal-Mart online currently $20.00

Usually $25.00

This lovely diaper bag is very spacious and has many reach-in pockets. There are a total of ten different pockets. These include two insulated pockets for bottles or cups and eight additional pockets for toys, clothes, wipes and more. The main interior is large enough to hold clothes and diapers. Separate additional pocket holds a changing pad and additional front zip pocket is ideal for mommy's keys, wallet, and more. It has an adjustable strap OR stroller straps, whichever you prefer.

"I just got my new diaper bag in the mail and I was so pleasantly surprised. Best features: large mom pocket, one with zipper for safety, larger bottle/sippy cup holders, 4 large inside pocket that are deep, stroller straps. Having a diaper bag with stroller straps allows you to utilize your stroller storage space! And I love how the changing pad has it's own pocket on the outside so it doesn't get crushed into a ball in the bottom of the bag!"- Buyer review

Number Five

Kalencom Heavenly Dots Weekender Diaper Bag

Comes in black/green polka-dots

Target online $69.99

This stylish diaper bag includes a separate bottle bag and a changing pad. It has an adjustable shoulder strap for the best fit. It also has multiple compartments to hold toys, clothes, pacifiers, and much more.

"I have this bag for my 2 girls, ages 2 months and 16 months. It's a WONDERFUL bag to carry everything they both need. I can fit everything for each of them for the whole day in there. Plus, it seems silly, but the straps being long enough to go over your shoulder becomes VERY nice when you have to get out of the house with a diaper bag, an infant in a carrier seat and a toddler. I love this bag (and it's super cute, too!)"- Buyer review

"I have so much room in it, it is never over-stuffed (which is a challenge for me as a first time mom of a baby with reflux bringing 3 backup outfits and a backup shirt for me, as well as the normal!). The straps actually go easily over your shoulder. I cannot express how much I love this darn bag."- Buyer review
