Top Five Drugstore Mascaras

A good mascara can be hard to find and it usually takes money and trial and error to figure out which mascara is best for your needs. Through my own trial and error, as well as some research, I've come up with five drugstore mascaras that I've found to be the best as what they claim to do. The following mascaras are in no particular order.

Cover Girl: Lashblast Lux Mascara

This mascara retails for around $8. Cover Girl's Lashblast Lux mascara comes in four shades of black; cabernet, royale, emerald and platinum. All four colors have a glistening finish that can clearly be seen on the brush. Cover Girl's Lashblast Lux mascara does everything. It's designed to give you thick, full, dramatically looking lashes with just a hint of shimmer to really make your eyes stand out.

Maybelline: Colossal Mascara

Maybelline's Colossal mascara retails for about $7 and has become one of my favorite mascaras. Now that it comes in waterproof I love it even more. What this mascara does is give your lashes nine times the volume with one stroke, at least that's what it claims, and I can vouch for it. The fat brush works to coat every lash from root to tip. Maybelline's Colossal mascara is formulated to be clump-free and contains collagen to plump up the lashes with ease. The key is to use several strokes, building up the volume to where you want it.

Maybelline: Lash Stiletto

This mascara is suppose to do what stilettos do for your legs and that's add length and make them look fabulous. The brush is design to grasp each lash and coat each one from root to tip and every angle. The special elastic formula in Maybelline's Lash Stiletto stretches out the lashes giving it added length. This mascara also contains a pro-vitamin B-5 that conditions and smoothes the lashes to make it appear even darker, and shinier. Maybelline's Lash Stiletto retails for around $9.

L'Oreal: Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

L'Oreal's Extra Volume Collagen Mascara contains something called hydra collagen that is suppose to create up to 12 times the volume without the clumping. The brush on this mascara is twice the thickness of traditional mascara brushes which aids in volumizing because it serves to coat every single lash from root to tip. This mascara retails for $8.

L'Oreal: Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara

This mascara has two sides to it. One side is the nourishing side and the other side is the lengthening mascara part. L'Oreal's Double Extend Lash Extension Effect mascara is design to not only lengthen lashes but make them look healthier too. This mascara is formulated to not clump, be smudge-proof and made to withstand extended wear. L'Oreal's Double Extend Lash Extension Effect mascara retails for around $10.

There are probably other great drug store mascaras out there that are not listed here but these are my top five picks because I've found that they have worked the best for me, and have gotten a lot of positive customer reviews.
