As I browsed the initial selection of eco-friendly swimwear for women, I was a little disappointed that many of the suits that came up as eco-friendly simply did not address the needs of most women, especially the eco-friendly types like myself. What about bathing suits for an active mom? Or a suit that I could wear in front of my mother and children, even grandma too? How about a suit for surfing or snorkeling the Keys? Do I really want to wear an itsy bitsy suit snorkeling the keys with sharks, sting rays, and coral? I think not.

So I had to search a lot deeper to find the options for women who are interested in eco-friendly swimwear that they can wear in the presence of their own and their neighbor's children as well as for an active lifestyle. Going green with bathing suits makes sense as they are worn so close on the skin, as well as for the benefits that recycled materials and growing materials organically provide for the environment.
