Melanie L. Marten
Despite the large number of cross stitch patterns and kits on the market, sometimes you want to design your own. Cross stitch software converts photographs, drawings, and any other picture to a counted cross stitch chart. Some programs cost a lot of money. However, there are some free cross stitch software programs available.

These free cross stitch software applications transform a graphic into a cross stitch chart on graph style paper. The pattern can be made with either colored blocks or symbols. These patterns can be printed on your home computer. Many include embroidery floss color charts.

I am looking for a copy of Stitch (listed above) for my girlfriend. I can not find a downloadable anywhere. I am looking for freeware, not a free trial, and Stitch looks to be just what I am looking for. If anyone knows where I can get that software, please email me at thespiscraeft@hotmail.com Thanks so much in advance.

I really can not believe how stupid you all sound. If you can type a comment you should be able to read also. She has told you that they have edited her comments. Also if you can pass judgment on her then do you think that you are smart enough to go to any one of the search engines and type in "cross stich programs" that will pull up any link that you need to find these programs, free or other wise. Melanie Marten thank you for taking the time to write a comment and try to help these people who only seem to be able to complain. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. As for the rest of you, grow up and try to appriciate what she tried to do for you, instead of focusing on who you were inconvienanced for having to look up your own links.

Just wondering what you meant by 'penultimate'. Penultimate usually means 'second to last', so just wondering what kind of usage you were trying for here. Did you mean that PC stitch was second worst?

In conjunction with my explanation below, I would like to point out that most of the programs listed above do have the website address in the text, such as Hobbyware.com for the first program. Some people may not have known about all programs listed and would be able to search for them by name. As stated before, there was nothing I could do about AC's removal of the links. And nothing to ask about before writing it. They are indiscriminate with their editing.

I could've done the research myself given there are no links. As for the writer's reasons why there aren't any links--you shoud have asked before you began writing.Totally useless.
