Top Five Men's Cologne

The Scent of a Man

Shamontiel
When he walks by, I stop what I'm doing to see where he's going. When he's talking to me, I'm trying to figure out how I can move closer to him. When he hugs me, I want him to hug me again. If he bumps into me, I don't mind one bit, and there's no need for him to say, "Excuse me." He is a man with memorable cologne. When women think of automatic sex appeal, you hear answers like height, eye color, intelligence, responsibility, muscles, or fashion. But how many people besides me equate sexiness not by what you look like but what you smell like too? Cologne is underrated. I find men wearing cologne more often at work or going out to a nightclub, but ladies like men who smell their best even in their most comfortable zones. What about those pool hall hangouts, around the house, or going out to grab a bite to eat?

I took a trip to Carson Pirie Scott to pick out my top five sexiest scents for men.

Usher's Usher for Men: This scent is by far my new favorite cologne for men. The scent is masculine but casual. It would work well at the office or going to a nightclub. It would definitely be fitting for a nice, romantic evening at home. The scent is mellow, but it whispers sexy in your ear. I currently wear Victoria's Secret® "Sexy Little Things®." The body splash purrs when you pick it up and the perfume bottle whistles. Women really should purr when a man wears Usher. Take note, ladies.

Diddy's Unforgivable for Men: Before I smelled Usher's cologne today, Unforgivable was my favorite. This cologne smells the way I view Diddy-professional, fashionable, classy, and colorful. The best part about this scent is that usually when I smell a scent by a celebrity, I'm not really convinced that he/she wears it. However, Diddy would have to be a fool not to milk this scent for all its worth. This aroma is ridiculous!

Curve: I can't count the number of repeat hugs that I've given guys for wearing this. I love the smell of water candles (ex. Glade® Rainshower). Curve has a sweet scent that reminds me of the outdoors. This scent isn't as subtle as Usher or Unforgivable, but it doesn't need to be. The scent is almost sweet and fitting at picnics as well as a job interview.

John Varvatos: This cologne is distinguished, like something you only smell on men who would be eligible to be on romance novel covers. For some strange reason, I automatically think of office Christmas parties the more I smell the aroma. It's almost mandatory that you wear John Varvatos with cufflinks.

Cool Water: Because I am such a fan of water scents, the first time I smelled Cool Water was an automatic top favorite. The name fits the cologne more than anything I can describe-it's debonair, exhilarating, slick, smooth, and befitting for both men and women who have the swagger to wear it well.

  • Do you purr like Victoria's Secret's Sexy Little Things® when you smell your man?

Diddy's Unforgivable print ads were accused of being too raunchy for city bus stops and department stores, and his cologne commercial was said to be too risque because of Diddy hiking up a model's skirt in a stairwell and hotel room.

Don Ricky, this sounds like you just wanted to plug your MySpace page. The cologne you wear had nothing to do with MySpace, but hey, thanks for stopping by. You can feel free to check out any other fragrances I give the thumbs up on by visiting my Chicago Fragrance Examiner page.

I am a big user of Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani For Men which has a very pleasant scent. Try it and tell me what you think. Back in the 80's I was a big Halston user.

James, I don't recall whether I have but I ran out of cologne (I'm wearing Victoria Secret's Heavenly and Cool Waters these days), so when I go to the mall this weekend, I'll ask about it and reply back. Thanks!

Hi! I was wondering have you ever smell "Curve Crush?" It is different from the classic Curve. I am often asked what I'm wearing and reply "Curve...Crush!"

    Thanks,
    James~

*busting up laughing at the username* Shaun, why didn't you just log in? You forgot your password? Dolche and Cabanna does smell good. This lady I worked with at Walmart back in the day used to wear it, but for some odd reason, I always relate it to women because of her. I don't know why because she was super diesel. But yeah, you're right. That's a great one.
