Top Five Most Comfortable Shoes for Men

Kelly Woodcox
I used to work at a shoe store for about one year so I've had some experience in picking out what type is best for many individuals. I also have sold hundreds of shoes on ebay of nearly every brand one can think of.

Most people, never naturally think about having a carefulness as to what they wear on their feet. However, walking has become very popular over the past couple of decades as far as being used as an aerobic or cardiovascular exercise.

So I'm going to reveal to you, some distinguishing and uncommonly thought of characteristics of walking shoes.

Not all shoes that you walk in have to have all of these concerns, but I will list them all and you should be able to tell by your own feet what type of shoe might be most beneficial for you.

First of all they should have firm heels that help keep your feet in position. This will help you adjust to your pace while you are walking, without the worry of your foot sliding around inside the shoe.

Always look for a thick tongue in the shoe to help keep your feet firmly in place, so again, you're not slipping around in them.

You should also look for a more wide front, so you can be sure that your not going to get your toes all cramped up or scrunched while you walk. Also you don't want your toes rubbing on the front of the shoe, as you can get some very painful blisters. You would especially want to consider this if you have any problems with your feet in general.

Removable soles are good but not necessary, unless you need to buy something else to accommodate comfort.

You also have to remember that our feet are not always the same size. Sometimes we retain a little water, or may have increased in weight as well as decreased in size. So, you want to make sure that your shoes are adjustable. Some people prefer Velcro, however, if they are laced you can adjust the laces as well.

You should be sure the bottoms are rubber. It also helps if they are a little wider than the rest of the shoe (although it's not extremely necessary). If the outer bottom part of the shoe is wider, it will help you stay balanced as the trail you are walking might change from time to time.

The best walking shoes should be breathable to help keep your feet from smothering and becoming too sweaty. The less sweat the better as that can also cause your feet to move around. Also, sweating can cause your shoes to wear out faster because of the constant moisture.

There is a certain type of sole that is better for the ball of your foot and it is called a polyurethane rocker sole, which helps absorb shock. http://www.mostcomfortableshoes.com/top-10-comfortable-walking-shoes/

I'm now going to list the top 5 most comfortable shoes for men:

I would have to agree with the website listed above that Merrell Intercept is in the top 5. They truly are very flexible and men who have them will tell you they are great, from my experience.

Next but not in any order, New Balance is definitely up there in the top 5. I know some men that came in the store and that is all they would ever buy. There are certain numbers because they are all made differently. Almost like you can customize your own fit. There are quite a bit to choose from. They are surely worth a try.

Ecco in general are great shoes. They are super comfortable and most of them if not all of them, have the removable sole. This is great for reselling when you're tired of them too, because people will pay a good price for used Ecco's on ebay. The removable soles help them feel comfortable about buying from a stranger. I've gotten up to 30.00 for a used pair of Ecco. I'm not saying everyone will, but they definitely are resell able if taken care of. Now they are also listed in the top 5 most comfortable shoes for men. From experience in my selling things online, I would have to agree that they were among the very most popular. I would often buy them to resell them. Either on clearance or at garage sales.

The next shoe was one of the most popular shoes bought in our store. They are Mephisto All Rounder Town. They have very good shock absorption. One guy referred to these as "amazing" in an email I got after selling them to him.

Lastly, in the top 5 is Nike I have never listed a pair of Nike on ebay that did not sell. Also when I worked at the shoe store they were our top sellers in walking shoes. Many nurses bought Nike as well. They would return to buy more too. I also have to say that Nike is my favorite all time shoe. The one thing about Nike that you have to think about is they all fit differently so make sure you try several of them on and walk around in the store for awhile to make sure you get the right fit.

Just a little tip I thought I'd throw in here; If you try a pair of shoes on that you like in a store but they are expensive and you don't want to spend the money. Check on ebay. Write down the shoe number on the inside tag of the shoe and use it in your search bar on ebay, the more experienced sellers usually put the number in their title. Always put the name of the shoe and the number first. Then you can drop the number if you cannot find them.

Also if you don't find them on ebay, there are tons of online comparison sites that can help you find the best deal. Some even let you return the shoes for free if there is a problem and also have free shipping to begin with!
