The 1970s was the decade of the blockbuster movie. Big summer and seasonal movies drew large crowds to the movies and manufacturers got in board launching a flurry of accompanying goodies. Some of those items like lunch boxes, toys and t-shirts have survived today and are popular fodder for '70s collectors. Schedule a movie weekend and enjoy the best in drama, musicals, comedy and horror classics.

1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - 1971

This movie thrilled children and adults firmly launching Gene Wilder's career. Although this was not his first starring role, it was the role he is most remembered for. Songs like "Pure Imagination" and "Oompa Loompa" are classic tunes. A famous line from this movie is "Where is fancy bred, in the heart or in the head?"

2. The Godfather - 1972

This epic movie unveils a snippet of mob life that both endears you and terrifies you. Starring Al Pacino and Marlon Brando this movie set the standard in drama. A famous movie line from this feature is, "I'm gonna make you an offer you can't refuse."

3. The Godfather II - 1974

Fans demanded to know what was next for the Corleone family and since Marlon Brando's character died who knew how Tony would lead? Meet the new Godfather in this film. Remember this line? "We are both part of the same hypocrisy Senator but it doesn't apply to my family."

4. Jaws - 1975

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Jaws is still a horror classic. Actors like Roy Schieder, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss make this a must-see again and again. The real star of the show is the villain, the Great White Shark. One of the most memorable lines of all time is "I think you're gonna need a bigger boat."

5. Rocky - 1976

Starring Sylvester Stallone, Rocky is about the underdog who surprises the boxing world to win the ultimate prize. Rocky pairs off with legendary fighter Apollo Creed. Go all ten rounds with Rocky! "Yo Adrian!"
