Top Five Movies of 2010

Most Anticipated Flicks of the Year

Jonna Norris
2010 promises to be a great year for Hollywood. With strong casts and plots to evoke nostalgia in even the hardest of hearts, I'm looking forward to these five flicks this year.

A-Team: Based on the 1980's television series, A-Team shows a group of Iraq war veterans (as opposed to Vietnam in the series) that are falsely accused of crimes by the U.S. military. So they break out of a maximum-security stockade in true A-Team fashion and work to clear their name. The cast includes Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, Sharlto Copley as Murdock, and UFC champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A. Baracus (sadly, no Mr. T). It's set to be released June 11, 2010. Before you know it, we'll all be yearning for the '80s.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader: This is another much anticipated movie of 2010. Set to premier December 10, 2010, it stars Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, Will Poulter and Eddie Izzard. Lucy, Edmund, and their cousin Eustace return to Narnia to sail with Prince Caspian on his ship The Dawn Treader. Danger and magic abound as they sail to the edge of the world.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: Fourteen-year-olds everywhere are counting down the days until the June 30, 2010 release of this movie. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are back for another round of vampire romance. Bella must choose between her love for the vampire Edward and her friendship with the werewolf Jacob. Throw Victoria, the vampire that is trying to get revenge against Edward, in the mix and it's sure to be a nail biter.

Date Night: Set to be released April 9, 2010, this movie has me intrigued for one reason: Steve Carell and Tina Fey play a married couple who attempt a romantic evening in New York City. I can't think of a better comedic couple. With Mark Wahlberg and Common adding to the cast, this movie may turn out to be quite hilarious.

Grown-Ups: An all-star cast makes this movie number one on my list of most anticipated movies of 2010. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider play a group of childhood friends who get together thirty years after graduation for a holiday weekend and meet each other's families. With a release date of June 25, 2010, this is definitely a must-see for all lovers of great comedy.

These are only a few of the many great-looking movies set to be released in 2010. Add other movies like Clash of the Titans, Death at a Funeral, and The Green Hornet and you've got quality entertainment for the whole year.
