Your first stop when visiting Greensburg has to be the Decatur County Courthouse built in 1854. A tree grows from the clock tower 115 feet above the courthouse grounds. The tower has had a tree growing there since 1870, and is a unique phenomenon that can only be seen in Greensburg, Indiana. The tree has been featured on the television show Ripley's Believe it or not, and thousands stop by each year just to view this oddity of nature. While in Greensburg be sure to stop in at the Gilded Lily, a beautiful gift shop in a beautiful old Victorian style house at 405 North Broadway Street. The two story shop is jam packed with eclectic and beautiful gifts and home décor.

Once you have worked up your appetite you will certainly want to dine in the old fashioned restaurant called Stories on 109 East Main Street. They are known for their tenderloin sandwiches, pies, and huge platters. The atmosphere is homey and casual, and the food is great.

For some relaxing fun be sure to visit the Mud House Pottery downtown on the north side of the square. You can walk in, sit down, and paint your own ceramics, create a mosaic, or shop the sweet little gift items offered throughout the store. While you are there be sure to ask the shop's owner about her own hand thrown stoneware pottery which is beautifully rustic in rich textured earthy colors. Several artists have their wares on display in her little shop. Children are welcome to come and experience painting their own designs hands on. All the supplies are included in the price when you select a piece to paint with glaze. The shop will then fire the piece in their kiln to be picked up in a few days. The staff at Mud House will be helpful and want you to enjoy the creative process. Mud House Pottery is open Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
