The top five pro football dynasties of all time
5. Cleveland Browns- 1946-1955- While this team is certainly the least known of the five on this list by most current football fans, Paul Brown built a team that won seven titles in ten years. Certainly the competition was not quite at the level it was today, but Brown made Cleveland into a perennial winner back in his time there and revolutionized the game in the process.
4. San Francisco- Late 1980's and early 1990's- The team would rank higher were it not for their titles being spread out so much, but no one can belittle how much this team won and how dominating they were. Joe Montana and Jerry Rice formed the best QB/WR combination of all time and the rest was history. The team won five rings between the 80's and 90's.
3. New England Patriots- 2001 to current- The Patriots have been ruling the NFL at a time when many believe it is the most competitive it has ever been. The nation has many people who love to hate them, but you can't argue with their success on the field and their success particularly in the playoffs. The coaching staff of the Pats is one of the best ever and has them prepared every week.
2. Green Bay Packers- 1961-1967- Vince Lombardi may well be the best coach of all time and this dynasty could be the best of all time, but it falls just short on my list. The Packers won the first two Super Bowls and won five of them in seven years. The Packers lost a total of 20 games in seven years. 20 games in seven years? That statistic alone tells you all you need to know about how dominate they were.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers- 1974-1979- An offense led by Bradshaw and Swann and a defense that was absolutely ferocious led this team to four Super Bowl wins in six years. The Steel Curtain was as dominate as they come, and the offense wasn't a bit shabby itself. This was probably the most talented team of all time.
There you have the top five pro football dynasties of all time. The order is debatable, especially with the top two, but these five yeams set themselves apart from the rest.
