Rap music has evolved into much more than a 'fad' as many so-called 'experts' claimed it would become many years ago. Thanks to amazing artists that have come and gone, the road for new artists has been paved with sweat and tears, and much blood. Let us celebrate this amazing musical genre by looking ahead at five of the most highly anticipated fall rap music releases for the fall of 2009: Rebelution from Pitbull, Hello Nasty (Remaster) from Beastie Boys. Bang Pow Boom from the Insane Clown Posse (ICP), Secret Stash IV from Kottonmouth Kings, and Detox from Dr. Dre.
Rebelution from Pitbull
Pitbull first came into the mainstream rap music scene when Lil John featured him on his rap album Kings of Crunk. Pitbull has since gone on to become a mainstay in the rap music scene, either through bring featured on other rap artists music or through his own rap album releases. His most recent album release, set drop on August 25, is entitled Rebelution. His highest charting single to date, 'I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)', reached a whopping #2 on the Hot 100 charts and comes off his most recent release, Rebelution.
Hello Nasty (Remaster) from Beastie Boys
The Beastie Boys burst onto the rap music scene in the late 1980's, bringing their unique style of rock and rap mix to the masses. Their single 'Fight for Your Right' brought them instant mainstream success, and these three Jewish boys from New York have been making a name for themselves ever since. In 1998, the Beastie Boys released their fifth studio album, Hello Nasty, on Capitol Records and it debuted on the Billboard 200 top album release charts at #1. Now, over ten years later, the Beastie Boys are going back to their roots and giving the fans what they have been asking for - an updated and remastered version of the great Hello Nasty rap album. The 2009 fall release of Hello Nasty will feature a better sounding mix of the original album, original artwork, and new remixes to ensure that this double disc set will be as memorable as the original Hello Nasty album release.
Bang Pow Boom from the Insane Clown Posse (ICP)
Unless you have been living under a rock the past ten years, there is no doubt that you have heard of the Insane Clown Posse, better known simply as ICP. From their early beginnings in Michigan (when they were known as the Inner City Posse), Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J have been carving out their own little niche in the rap music world. Their rap album release Carnival of Carnage began their storyline of being two clowns from a traveling circus of punishment, reigning pain and displeasure of those that treat others as garbage. Their newest rap music release, entitled Bang Pow Boom, is guarantied to become a Juggalo and Juggalette classic.
Secret Stash IV from Kottonmouth Kings
Southern Cali has brought many great things to world, but their best rap music contribution comes in the form of a group stoner slackers that go by the name of the Kottonmouth Kings. The Kottonmouth Kings love to rap about their favorite pastime, smoking weed, but also rap about life and the problems of modern American life and society, as featured in the hit single 'Peace Not Greed' and 'The Lottery'. Their newest rap album release, Secret Stash IV, is geared to be more of the same great music, but also a bit of a branching out as far as style is concerned, which is evident on the song 'Demons'. To build hype for the release of Hidden Stash IV, the Kottonmouth Kings have issued Freedom Sampler 420, a four track sampler of songs off their newest music release. The most notable track off this sampler is the remix of 'Tangerine Sky' (entitled 'Say Goodbye to the Tangerine Sky'), which features new music and lyrics.
Detox from Dr. Dre
When you talk about the sweat and tears that paved the way for modern rap artists, you are talking about the Godfathers of Rap, the elite few who have risen to legendary status in the rap music world. This group is not complete without Dr. Dre, who began his rap music career with the rap group NWA. After the falling out of NWA, Dr. Dre went solo and eventually released one of the greatest rap album releases of all time, The Chronic, which first introduced us to Snoop Dogg. After many years in the rap music industry, forming his own label, and bringing the world Eminem, the Dr. is back with his fall album release Detox.
