Top Five Sites for Cheap Airfare

5. Expedia

Although Expedia does not have the best deals as far as prices go, it has several other features that make it a worthy mention. Expedia is great if you want to get an all-in-one package. For example, if you want to schedule not only your flight, but a rental car and a hotel for your travels. Expedia also offers vacation packages, making it even easier for you to enjoy your time away from home. It also has a helpful Business Travel section that focuses upon those who are not traveling for pleasure.

4. Student Universe

Don't be fooled by the name - Student Universe is not only limited to students, but also offers discount prices for those under the age of 26 (Youth) as well as Faculty (meaning educators). The sight offers some excellent deals for airfare. It's especially great if you can be flexible with your travel dates.

3. Priceline

Although wellknown, Priceline is still a great site for finding deals on airfare. Priceline often offers seasonal deals, so it's a good idea to keep an eye of the site around the time when you are ready to buy your tickets, and to buy on a day when prices drop. It also offers a rewards program which would be advantageous if you are an avid traveler. The site also has a city guide to help you once you have reached your destination. Overall, just a great, organized site with low prices!

2. Kayak

Kayak is more of a search engine, comparing the prices of airfare from different sites. It's a great way to find out quickly who is offering the best prices each day. As mentioned before, it's a good idea to watch prices for a few weeks before buying, and to purchase when there is a drop in the price. Kayak helps you do this, offering you the option of which sites you want to search and opening them all in separate windows so you can easily compare prices.1. Skyscanner

Although I have seen some complaints about this site in reviews on the web, I think it's absolutely the best. Skyscanner has, without a doubt, the lowest airfare prices out there. The site does have some maintenance problems, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by simply refreshing your browser. Skyscanner offers even better deals for the flexible traveler, not only in time but in place. It shows the difference in prices between different airports with a nifty map. Overall, the best airfare search engine.
