Top Five Twitter Bots that Make Me Laugh

When it comes to twitter bots, most people tend to have a negative point of view regarding the subject. Contrary to popular belief, not all twitter bots exist to solicit pornography or get rich quick schemes. It's true! I'm fairly certain that there are about a dozen or so useful, and down right amusing twitter bots in existence right now. I thought I'd introduce you to the five that make me chuckle a bit.

Funny Twitter Bots: fart_robot
Any instance of a fart will be retweeted by fart_robot, which the addition of "FART ROBOT APPROVES". Juvenile? Yeah. Amusing? Depending on what people are saying when they mentioning the word fart in their tweets. I defy you to use fart in a serious sentence. You can't do it. It's one of those impossible things taht people either refuse to refute, or don't bother thinking about.

Funny Twitter Bots: Cardinal_Fang
Fang is the obligatory meme bot, which seem essential for lists like this. It's sole purpose is to lurk in the shadows, waiting. Waiting for unsuspecting Twitter users to make reference to that Monty Python skit by typing the words "Spanish" and "Inquisition" in succession. I might have just ruined the joke. I mean, every Tweep reading this article will know to expect the Spanish Inquisition from here on out. But if then go as far to mention them, aren't they already aware and suspicious of their motives?

BestAt is to twitter as Technorati is to blogs. It's an aggregator for funny twitter updates. If you're feeling depressed, bored or constipated, it would be in your best interests to follow BestAt. Fancy yourself as a high ranking Twitter comedian, and wonder why BestAt hasn't retweeted any of your classic quips? it either because you aren't that funny, or the bot is seriously hating on your self proclaimed greatness. Believe whatever makes you feel better.

The very idea of a washing machine bot makes me laugh so hard, milk has the potential to come shooting out of my nostrils. That's basically what PiMPY is. Over 500 people find it's updates absolutely riveting. Here's a classic update from October: A load of laundry finished washing at: Wed Oct 28 12:20:00 2009. Midweek laundry is mind blowing. Why did the guy who set up this twitter bot decide to wash his clothing on a Wednesday? Was there a poop related accident? Is so, did his dog have dierrea, and explode all up in his closet? PiMPY won't broadcast the gruesome details, which means whatever you can up up with is probably true to some extent.

Send yourself reminders for appointments, chores, bets you were sure to win if not for bad karma, and other things. Remember the milk will direct message your tasks back to you either when they're due, or manually with a set of comments(ex: the shortcut !tod will make the bot report on all tasks that are due today.) Why does it make me laugh? because I cam remind myself one liners from Groucho Marx if I'm feeling down.
