There is really not much time left to the summer vacation, and some have already collected all the vacation souvenirs of the summer. The problem is that once you come back from vacation you may have a difficult time finding a place for all of your souvenirs. Many of us already have closets full of souvenirs from past vacations so what can you do. Below are a few ideas and suggestions on how you can display your souvenirs.
Table displays
If you have end tables in your living room, or even a coffee table see if you can store the item here. You can place it on a small spot on the table. Or if you have a nice souvenir shell collection you can put all of the shells in a clear vase. Then display it on the table. One idea that is really nice is tacking the shells along with marbles. Kids love this display and it helps to weigh the vase down. Start by placing marbles on the bottom then a layer of shells. Alternate the layers all the way to the top. You will have a nice souvenir table display.
Make a display box
You have heard of display cases, well you can make a display box, which shows off all of you souvenirs from your trip. All you need is a wooden box with a clear, plastic top. You can find boxes like these at some dollar stores, but they are pretty easy to make yourself at home. You can usually pick up the materials at your local arts and crafts store. This centerpiece will definitely be a highlight when visitors come.
Cake tiers
This idea may sound a but it makes for an amazing display. Check your attic for old small sized cake tiers. If you don't have any you can check local garage sales and flee markets. A nice small cake tier display is perfect for displaying your souvenirs from the summer. You can place this on a book shelf if you one that is big enough for you.
Make a wind chime
You can make a wind chime and hang your souvenirs from it. For example if you have a few seashells mixed with a few post cards, your kids will love making a unique looking wind chime to hang up. Of course if you are going to hang up this kind of wind chime, I highly recommend that you put it on a covered porch.
Give it a place all its own
If you don't have a designated place why not make one. You can install a shelf in your living room just for your vacation memories. This is a great way to remember your vacation and add a little something extra to your living room d©cor.
