Do not confuse it with Casino Royale because this movie is in a whole different league. Batoru rowaiaru aka Battle Royale was released in 2000 and made in Japan. Warning: The movie does have subtitles. So if you hate subtitles, just suck it up because this movie is worth it. The movie is set in the future. Since Japan is being overrun by juvenile delinquents, the government decides to take a class of ninth graders and put them on an island. They have to kill each other in order to get off the island. And only one of them can leave the island alive. They have only three days to battle to the death. I don't want to tell you the whole movie because I hate when people do that but this movie is worth watching. Now it is not playing in the United States yet because of Virginia Tech and Columbine murders. But you can watch it online. Just go to www.watch-movies.net. They also made a sequel to this movie but it didn't make my list. Watch it and you'll understand why.
2. Red Room
This movie is about four people (husband and wive, and two girls who are not related) who enter a contest to win a million dollars. In order to win the million dollars, they have to enter a red room and play a little card game. There are four cards. Each card has a number on it (1, 2 , 3, and 4). One person deals the cards. The dealer is called the King. One person cuts the cards. And each person chooses a card. Now they don't show anybody their cards. The King has to call out two numbers (either 1, 2, 3, or 4) and make the people who have those two numbers do something very naughty, dirty, crazy or sick. Trust me. The things they make each other do is really, really sick. But it is still worth watching. This movie is also made in Japan.
3. Salo, Or The 120 Days Of Sodom
Set in 1944. Four powerful men gather their daughters, kidnaps eighteen young men and woman and take them to a palace. They bring along four middle aged prostitutes and several young men to help them torture and humiliate their victims for their own pleasures. I never seen this film. But I thought I should put this in my list. I didn't want to make it number one because I never heard of it. But I believe once I see it, I will have to make it number one. This film has been banned in many countries. It was released in the US but it was shortly discontinued. The original DVD is worth alot of money in the United States today. It is worth about anywhere from $250 to $1000 dollars. The freaky part is that the director and writer of the movie, Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered before the film was actually released. This movie is a must see but very rare to find. I have to do a great bit of research to watch it online.
4. American Psycho
This is a classic. This is the movie that put Christian Bale on the map. Christian Bale plays Patrick Bateman. He is a wealthy New York investment banking executive. He has the best clothes, the best body, and the best of everything. With one exception.... He is a psychopathic maniac. But he hides it very well. But he goes deeper and deeper in madness throughout the whole movie. This movie is a must see with the talented actors like Christian Bale, Josh Lucas, Jared Leto, Chloe Sevigny and Reese Witherspoon and a hit soundtrack with David Bowie, New Order, Robert Palmer, Huey Lewis and The News.
5. The Doom Generation
One of my must favorite movies of all time by my favorite director Gregg Araki. This film is about two lovers and a hitcherhiker on the run from the law. They're on the run because somehow they accidentally killed someone. Self defense! But anyway, they are on the run not only from the law but from several people who want to kill the girl and her two male companions. Everywhere they go, someone always thinks that they know the girl and that she broke their heart. And now they want to kill her. So there are many situations where they fight for their lives living someone left dead or serious injured. This movie is suppose to be a heterosexual movie by Araki but at the end there is a threesome between the three companions. This movie is interesting, hilarous, fucked up, and just insane. WATCH IT!

Post a CommentThe weirdest movie ever is Funky Forest. Look it up.
Great choices here - I love that Christian Bale is now Batman. After Keaton's manic portrayal of him & now Bale's - the Batman has become a real choice nutcase!
