Top Five Xbox 360 Shooter Games for Fall 2010

Brandon Miller
Every year, I check out the list of Xbox 360 games that are expected to release during the year. As a fan of FPS (First Person Shooters), this year is definitely going to be a good one. Fall is usually the best time of the year for game releases. For many game developers, the goal is to release games just before the busy holiday season. Here are some of the top Xbox 360 shooters that I feel are going to be the biggest sellers this coming fall.

Medal of Honor
Release Date: September 30th

Now we're talkin'. I have always been a fan of the Medal of Honor series, but I prefer games that have a modern perspective. So naturally, Call of Duty won me over with their Modern Warfare series. When I saw the trailer for this game, I automatically assumed that it was going to be for the next installment of Modern Warfare. I was pleasantly surprised that Medal of Honor would be following suit. From the trailer, the game appears to probably take place in Afghanistan. If this game is as good as it looks, they are surely going to give COD a run for their money.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Release Date: November 9th

The newest installment of the Call of Duty series is sure to be a blast. It appears to me, from what I gathered from the trailer, that the game will most likely be a compilation of flashbacks. Several scenes from the trailer show soldiers wearing bandanas and Huey choppers, so it is probably safe to assume some Vietnam levels.

F.E.A.R. 3
Release Date: Fall 2010

Do you love playing dark, mess-with-your-mind kind of games? Yes? Then F.E.A.R. 3 is just for you. Join a special government operative team to take on paranormal threats. The first two games in the series have been huge hits and the ratings are great, so if you are into horror movie meets FPS (First Person Shooter) then this is a must for you gaming wish list.

Halo: Reach
Release Date: September 1st (estimated)

Even though I normally don't like sci-fi shooters, Halo 3 is still one of my favorite games of all time. The Halo story officially ends with Halo 3. However Halo: Reach is set to take place prior to the original Halo. For Halo fans, this is sure to provide further insight into the storyline that already exists.

Crysis 2
Release Date: November 1

Crysis 2 is a continuation of the popular Crysis game, known for its amazing graphics, that was made exclusively for PCs. If anything, it will be great to see how the sweet visuals transfer over to the Xbox 360. If the graphics are anything like the original, it is sure to be a hit. I have never played the original (I'm more of a console only player), but I have been told that it has a similar feel to Far Cry (which was also made by Crytec).
