Top Free PDA Applications

cheeze
Anyone who has a Palm-based product want to have good applications on it. Unfortunately, there are very few exceptional free applications out there. I have compiled a list of applications I use as well as very good ones that others may find useful. All of these are 100% free at the time this is written.

ChemTable
For anyone who's in Chemistry (or simply wants to show off his or her knowledge of the Periodic Table), this is the most valuable tool ever. Not only will you be able to access each Element and basic information, you're presented with the Atomic Weight, Classification, Electron Configuration, Melting Point, Boiling Point, Oxidation States and more! This is a must for anyone who is taking AP Chemistry or anyone who is in a college level Chemistry class. Quite possibly the most useful application listed here.

Easy Calc
If you forgot your calculator, this will make a good alternative. It has graphing capabilities as well as the power of a scientific calculator. If you need to do some quick calculus or simple mathematics, this will help as it can do just about everything a basic graphing calculator can. Finding tangents and slopes will pose no problem for you after getting this application.

eReader
For a list of books that can be used with this application go here. You'll no longer have to carry books to read great titles. If you have a wide-screen PDA (A Lifedrive or T-X for example) then you can read without being annoyed by relatively small size as well. Of course, whether you have a high or low resolution, this application will you to carry so many books on the road to be read whenever you want.

FileZ
This application allows you to look at the internal memory of the PDA. Anything stored on the memory card or built-in storage or internal memory can be accessed, moved or changed (provided you have a method to change them). The most useful thing to do with this is to access hidden files inside the PDA that could otherwise be unreachable; although you won't be using this application a lot, it can be useful to have on your PDA just in case.

PXA Clocker
If your PDA is running slow, you may simply need to overclock it. This application allows you to overclock with just a touch on the screen. However, overclocking to unsafe levels can cause permanent damage; however, it also allows you to overclock only certain programs, LJP for example. This is not the only advantage as you can underclock as well; by underclocking, you can conserve your battery life at the cost of running a little slower. Of course, if your PDA is running extremely quickly already, then there's no harm in underclocking a little.

Sudoku
A very popular game. Unlimited puzzles as they are all generated randomly at the beginning. There's not much to say except that having this ensures you hours of entertainment no matter where you are.

TCPMP
The ultimate media application. You'll be able to create playlists of mp3s, movies or whatever else you want as long as this supports it. Also supports pictures. Unfortunately, this application is not being updated; however, at its current state, it works very well and is extremely stable. There are numerous plug-ins allowing you to play almost any movie or format.

Love math which probably lead to my interest in programming; later started the violin which lead to music which is starting to overpower the programming side. College now. Yay.  View profile
