Literature is important for everyone and almost everyone reads books of a certain genre. If you don't know which books your colleagues prefer, you can talk with them about the books they like and try to discover their favorite authors and which they like to read and don't possess. Try to find a just published book in their favorite genre and you will likely avoid they have bought the book before you surprise them with such gift.

Most everyone loves watching movies and your colleagues will certainly possess a DVD player. Most DVD's can be bought for less than $20.00 and most shops offer the possibility to exchange the DVD's if they should already possess the one you've bought. If you don't know which DVD to buy, you can also consider buying a movie ticket for the Christmas holidays.

*CDs

Everyone loves a certain genre of music and possesses a collection of CDs. If you know which music they like and which CDs they don't already possess, you can buy a CD of their favorite singer or group. It is also possible to buy download cards and they can download legally their favorite music.
