Top Green Bathroom Cleaners on the Market

Tonya Hillukka

A clean bathroom doesn't have to smell of harsh chemicals that give you a headache and cause allergies to flare up. Natural, green bathroom cleaners can work just as well as any commercial product on the market. Do you want to start using healthier cleaners, but aren't sure how to begin? Start with a non-toxic all-purpose cleaner, a green glass cleaner, sponges and towels made of natural fibers and a natural air freshener. Here are a few to check out.

Clorox Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner - $3.99 - $32.95

Many people associate Clorox with bleach and harsh chemicals, but no more -- this green cleaner is easier on the environment and healthier for your household. Simply spray it on any bathroom surface and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Leave it to soak into harder-to-clean surfaces for a few minutes.

Green Dog Glass & Surface Cleaner
- $5.59 - $6.49

This glass cleaner has a light lavender scent and non-toxic ingredients that work as well as any chemical cleaner. It is not toxic to the family, or even the family pets. Simply spray the cleaner evenly onto the bathroom mirror and windows and wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth.

3M Scotch Brite Green Scrub Sponge - $2.99 - $24.69

This sponge has natural fibers, but it does just as good a scrubbing job as any. Use the 3M Scotch Brite Greener Clean Natural Fiber Scrub Sponge for scrubbing away bathroom scum from the tub, tiles and around the toilet. Rinse and repeat as needed, and dry with a clean towel.

Eco-Clean Green Drying Towel - $8.99 - $15.70

Finish up the job with this eco-friendly drying towel. It has a strong weave for durability and fiber loops that absorb more water. This towel will not scratch your fixtures or the finish on your faucets; it will simply leave a shine without the water spots.

Natural Air Freshener - $5.00 - $28.88

Most aerosol air fresheners send a fine mist of chemicals into the air you breathe. These natural air fresheners are made of non-toxic ingredients -- essential oils, for example -- that are not harmful to inhale. Plus, they don't have such a harsh fragrance, like commercial air fresheners.
