The season of haunted houses will be prowling again. Ghosts and ghouls fill the country everywhere. If you want an adventurous and scary experience, you might want to consider visiting a haunted house.

Sometimes, just knowing the history of a haunted place is enough to make you think about how scary things can get. But how scarier can things just get once you visit a haunted house? A heart throbbing experience is at your doorstep with over 1,200 haunted houses across the United States.

SPOOKYWOODS: Located in Greensboro, North Carolina, this farm will provide you a scary hair-raising experience. Be quiet while you visit as you never know what might stop your way. This haunted cornfield, which was once peaceful, is a home for foul creatures. Dropped from an airlift, these creatures are hungry and can make you the next target.

The Red Creek valley, located in this location can also be a very scary experience. Fog fills the streets of this haunted ghost town. Make good use of all your senses, as there will be no warning before something comes out and scares the hell out of you. The tickets are reasonable at $12 for children and $22 for adults.

NETHERWOOD HAUNTED HOUSE: Netherwood is one of the scariest haunted houses in the states. The place has a detailed ambience specifically built for use as a movie set. It is a multi-story house with great special effects and live actors. Prepare yourself for a spine chilling experience as this place features slim pits, the bottomless pit and other terrifying adventures that will make fear crawl down your skin. Carnivore and Mangler cost $25 per person and a visit to Carnivore will cost you $18. Live snakes, rats and insects infest this place so it can be too intense at times.

THE 7 FLOORS OF HELL: This is Cleveland, Ohio's best haunted house. The place features a new cornfield with scarecrow's revenge. This is like a 7 in 1 haunted house. Dr. Satan rules the laboratory in the House of Nightmares. The souls here will make sure to give you the scare of your life. Make sure not to underestimate the cemetery, as you never know what is coming from behind the gravestones. The crypt is a home to the dead, and before you enter, you must pass a 20' tall creature.
