The FIFA World Cup is a once every four years event that captivates much of the world. It could be argued that the World Cup is a bigger deal worldwide than the Olympics. Thanks to ESPN, you can catch every United State World Cup match in your home. You can also watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup online for free while in your home. There's just something special about watching the World Cup at a great soccer bar. Here are the top three soccer bars in Hoboken.

Best Hoboken Soccer Bars #1: Mulligan's Pub

The undisputed champion of Hoboken soccer pubs. No questions asked. If there is a soccer match taking place anywhere in the world, it is being televised at Mulligan's Pub. How obvious is it that Mulligan's is Hoboken's top soccer pub? The bar is the first establishment mentioned when you Google "Hoboken soccer bar." Mulligan's has TVs everywhere, including right behind the bar. The bar also has over a dozen beers on tap and many, many bottled selections. Mulligan's also has some of the most underrated appetizers in all of Hoboken. You should definitely try the Mulligan's sirloin burger. Not quite what you may expect from a soccer bar.

Best Hoboken Soccer Bars #2: Four L's

Four L's is such a spectacular restaurant, you might not realize that it's also one of the top soccer bars in Hoboken. Seven plasma TVs ensure that you do not miss a second of any soccer match. Four L's will be airing every 2010 FIFA World Cup match. The bar also shows English Premier League, Italian Serie A and MLS soccer matches.

Four L's also has the best food of any soccer or sports bar located in Hoboken. Get the Tuscan Nachos and thank me later. Feeling thirsty? Four L's offers daily specials that include beer, wine and mixed drink specials on a daily basis.

Best Hoboken Soccer Bars #3: Liberty Bar

The uptown Hoboken sports bar. If you live above eighth street, you might not want to make the trip down to Four L's or Mulligan's. You can catch all of the FIFA World Cup, New York Red Bulls and other soccer matches at Liberty Bar. You won't miss a second of the matches as, much like Mulligan's, there are numerous TV screens throughout Liberty Bar. Liberty Bar also has quite the extensive menu that separates it from other similar sports bars.

Liberty Bar is also Hoboken native Eli Manning's bar of choice.
