Family Fun
If you are looking for a family-friendly hotel, I suggest you consider the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Maple Grove. This hotel is brand new and includes a Venetian-themed 25,000 square foot indoor water park. It also has a 1,200 square foot video arcade, restaurant, fitness center, whirlpool, and convenience store. It is located in the heart of Maple Grove's Arbor Lakes shopping area, and is conveniently located near the I-694 and I-494 interchange. The average nightly rate is $139.
Be sure to note the water park is only open on the weekends. The hours are Fridays 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Saturdays 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. and Sundays 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Children must be 48 inches or taller to go down the water slides. Some children may be frightened by the water slide's dark tunnels as they travel outside the building and return to the pool area.
Business and Vacation Travelers
There are two Maple Grove hotels I recommend for business and vacation travelers:
The Hampton Inn in Maple Grove is close to many shops and restaurants in the Arbor Lakes area, and is easily accessed from I-494, I-694 and I-94. The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers and hair dryers. The hotel has an exercise room and an indoor pool. The Hampton Inn offers a complimentary hot breakfast and breakfast bags for those on the go. The average nightly rate is $119.00.
The Hilton Garden Inn in Maple Grove is located near 494 and Bass Lake Road. The rooms include a refrigerator, microwave and coffee makers. The hotel has an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, restaurant and a Pavilion Pantry which sells a selection of refrigerated and microwaveable packaged items. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service within a five mile radius. A new strip mall near-by includes the Original Pancake House, Pizza Hut to Go and other restaurants within walking distance. The average nightly rate is $135.00.
Upscale Hotels
There are two upscale Maple Grove Hotels:
The Courtyard by Marriott in Maple Grove was built in January of 2008, so it still has that brand new appearance. It has an Asian-influence decor which some may love and others may question. It is located in the heart of the Arbor Lakes Shopping area and is conveniently close to the I-494 and I-694 interchange. The hotel is smoke-free and includes microwaves, refrigerators and coffee makers in all guest rooms. There is a fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, and a bar and billiards area. The average nightly rate is $178.
Staybridge Suites in Maple Grove is an upscale apartment-style hotel. The rooms include full kitchens for extended stays. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast buffet, on and off-site fitness centers, free high-speed Internet, indoor pool, outdoor basketball half court, whirlpool, barbecue grills, convenience store, newsstand, gift shop, a library with board games, video rentals, laundry facilities, and dry cleaning services. The hotel is near the Arbor Lakes Shopping area and is located near I-494, I-694 and I-94. The average nightly rate is $173.
Extended Stay Hotel
If you are planning an extended stay, the most economical choice is the Maple Grove Extended Stay America. The rooms include full kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers, and cooking utensils. The hotel has on-site laundry, and is pet-friendly. It is located off of I-494 and Bass Lake Road. Be aware that rooms are cleaned weekly, not daily. The average nightly rate is $90.00.
Budget Hotel
If you are on a tight budget, you may want to consider staying at the Select Inn in Maple Grove. The hotel is located near I-694 and Hemlock, which is close to the Arbor Lakes Shopping area. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, has GPS rental available, free high speed Internet, complimentary coffee, guest laundry, in-room coffee makers, hair dryers, and is pet friendly. The average nightly rate is $75.00.
Hospital Stays
Cambria Suites is building a new Maple Grove hotel next to the new Maple Grove Hospital and North Memorial Medical Center. The hotel plans on opening March of 2009. It will offer a gourmet coffee shop, a fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub, a bistro-style restaurant and a Sundry shop.
