The electric motor is recharged by a battery when braking. As of now these hybrids do not need to be plugged in, but still use gas by traditional means. Here are five 2011 hybrid vehicles about to be released in the fall of 2010 with information on gas mileage, price and other relevant information. They ranged from economy cars to luxury sedans to an SUV whose brands are all well known.
