We've all seen the massive frozen yogurt craze that has overtaken the nation in recent years. On every street corner, the small self-serve yogurt places with modern decor have sprung up, offering giant pay-by-the-ounce, self-serve yogurt with limitless topping offerings. Want to try some of the best? One option can be found on 2101 Queen Anne Ave N (between Crockett St and Boston St) in Menchie's Frozen Yogurt. Open Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Menchie's is a self-serve, kid-friendly yogurt chain with a large variety of delicious flavors and toppings, sure to please any family. For health-conscious parents, Menchie's offers some low carb, no-sugar-added, and dairy-free choices.

For another option in the frozen yogurt world, check out Utopia Frozen Yogurt, a frozen yogurt place unique to Seattle. Located on 600 5th Ave S, Ste 101, conveniently inside the food court, Utopia is open Monday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and serves a large variety of flavors that can please any palate. The flavors rotate on a weekly basis and include Pomegranate, Chocolate, Honeydew, and of course the Original Tart, all with gourmet, mouth-watering toppings. The yogurt place also offers more unusual flavors such as Taro, Lychee, Billberry, and Green Tea.

For a more traditional ice cream parlor outing, Seattle has many delectable choices as well. For some of Seattle's best hand-crafted ice cream, check out Husky Deli & Catering , on 4721 California Ave. SW, which receives consistent top ratings as one of Seattle's top ice cream shops. Serving ice cream since 1932, Husky's has the option of "regular" flavors, such as the "Husky Flake," Maple Walnut, and Root Beer, or "gourmet" flavors like Caramel Pecan Fudge or Strawberry Grand Marnier, as well as the occasional holiday or seasonal flavor. For the hungry family, Husky's serves delicious sandwiches as well.

Another option is Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream, open noon to 11 p.m. With an organic, local take on the traditional creamy treat, Molly Moon's is environmentally conscious and kid-friendly. Molly Moon's even offers vegan options. Some of the more unusual flavors recently available at the shops include Balsamic Strawberry, Mandarin Chocolate Sorbet, Rosemary Meyer Lemon, Salted Caramel, and Honey Lavender, along with more traditional flavors such as Vanilla Bean and Strawberry. Molly's has three locations in Seattle'"1622 N 45th St (Wallingford, 98103), 1408 34th Ave (Madrona, 98122), and 917 E Pine St (Capitol Hill, 98122).
