Washington D.C. offers a great variety of restaurants, something from everywhere. The Indian restaurants in Washington D.C. are some of the finest. The price range goes from low to just over the middle line and they have something for everyone and vegetarians will be very happy. Do try to make reservations, especially for dinner. Washington D.C. is one place where people do like to dine out. The prices are from the dinner menus, so in most cases, lunch will be a little cheaper.

One of the finest of the Indian restaurants in Washington D.C. is Aatish on the Hill which is a mid priced restaurant at 609 Pennsylvania Ave SE #609, Washington D.C. 20003 Phone: 202-544-0931open for Lunch Mon-Sun: 11:30am-2pm and Dinner Mon-Thu: 5pm-10pm Fri-Sat: 5pm-10:30pm Sun: 5pm-10pm.

They serve dishes from both India and Pakistan in a comfortable, casual atmosphere. You cannot beat their full buffet lunch for $9.95 for both value and quality. They have a great selection of vegetarian choices such as stir fried mixed vegetables for $10.95 or a delicious roasted eggplant dish for $11.95. Tandoori dishes are cooked in a clay oven they have a taste all their own. The Lamb sheesh kabab for $14.95 is a great choice. They have 5 choices for sea food, all of them at $16.95 and the chicken dishes include Chicken Marsala, but in Indian style, which is very unique, for $12.95

This is one of the most elegant restaurants. It is a place where you would want to be on the dressy side. There are two dining rooms. The downstairs one has muted lighting, with candles on each table. A nice place for a private conversation. You would expect the prices in a restaurant like this to be on the high side, but all of the entrees are priced under $20. They have a large vegetarian menu and the other choices include the mixed grill, where you get a bit of just about everything including Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kababs, and Tandoori Shrimp and Tandoori Shrimp for $17.95 or their own special Cod Fish Curry for $15.25.

The Bombay Club

The Bonbay Clubhas a nice, classy but casual atmosphere and style. They have live piano music every evening and a beautiful outdoor patio of dining in the good weather. As for the food, the Andraki Lamb Chops for $32 are a great choice as is the Seafood Curry for $22. They also have vegetarian dishes like Vegetable Curry for $12. The Sunday Brunch costs $20 per person and includes either Champagne or another drink.

They have a great buffet for both lunch and dinner - Monday - Friday it costs $9.95 per person and Saturday - Sunday it costs $10.95. Their regular menu has some great choices also. They have large vegetarian menu and you can choose from entrees like Chicken and Spinach for $11.95 and Lamb Roganjosh for $11.95. They have a nice, casual relaxed atmosphere.

The White tiger offers a weekday buffet for $9.95 and Sunday brunch for $10.95. From the regular menu, the Tandoori Lobster Tail is a great dish. The price is based on the market price for that day. And for $24. You can try a dish called Kahabi where you get a selection of different kababs including chicken, lamb, fish and shrimp. Think dressy/casual when you dine here.

The prices are a bit higher at Rasika. Thing dressy/ casual and you will be fine. They have great barbeque items like Mango Shrimp for $12, the Red Snapper with coconut, tamarind and cilantro has a unique taste at $19 and they have a large selection of both hot and cold vegetarian selections.

The Delhi Dhaba
located at 4455 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington D.C. 20008 Phone: 202-537-1008 is one of the most economical of the Indian restaurants in Washington D.C. They are open for Lunch Mon-Fri: 11:30pm-3pm and Dinner Mon-Fri: 5pm-10pm, Sat: 11:30am-10:30pm and Sun: 11:30am-10pm.

The Delhi Dhaba has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is very family friendly. They feature dishes from the North of India such as Chicken Curry for $10.95 and Chicken Saag - with spinach - for $10,95. They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes and Tndoori as well.

Last but certainly not least, there is Indique at 3512 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington D.C. 20008 Phone: 202-244-6600 Their hours are Lunch Daily: 12pm-3pm and Dinner Sun-Thu: 5:30pm-10:30pm, Fri-Sat: 5:30pm-11pm

Indique is a place where you can dress casually, but on the dressy side. They have a special pre theater menu as well as their regular which includes items like. Tandoori King Shrimp for $21, 8 curry dishes all $18 or less and a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
