Top Las Vegas Restaurants of 2009

Inexpensive Restaurant Chains in Vegas

Drew Bush
I live in Boulder City, Nevada which is just 15 to 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. I have to admit that Las Vegas has some fabulous restaurants. One of my most favorite things to do is eat out at different restaurants and since Las Vegas has a restaurant on almost every corner, I guess I am in luck.

#1- Olive Garden

Olive Garden has and always will be one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. Olive Garden is only about ten minutes from the Strip and is located in Henderson, Nevada. I go there every couple of months. The atmosphere is just amazing. The wait staff is extremely friendly, the music is charming, and of course the food is delectable. I usually get the Seafood Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan, or Eggplant Parmesan. I definitely recommend these meals if you ever stop at Olive Garden. Also, their breadsticks and salad are mouthwatering and addicting.

#2- Applebee's

Applebee's is another one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. I have been there on many occasions and really do enjoy it. They have some great salads, ribs, seafood, and burgers. The last time I ate there I had their ribs and they were great. Yum Yum!

#3- Macaroni Grill

I have been to the Macaroni Grill on several occasions and I was very impressed. While Olive Garden has some great Italian food, the Macaroni Grill has more of an Italian atmosphere. Like Olive Garden, I usually get their seafood. The inside of the restaurant is very charming with chandeliers and music. It is a great place for the whole family or a couple to go on a date.

#4- Barley's

Barley's is another one of my favorite restaurants to go to. I have been going there for over ten years now and it has always been a great place to get a bite to eat. They have some great ribs and burgers. The burgers are so big you can barely fit your mouth around them. The atmosphere is casual so it is a place where everyone can have a good time.

#5- Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings is another great restaurant in Las Vegas. They have some of the best buffalo wings in the city. They have over a half dozen different sauces to choose from that range from very mild to extremely hot. My personal favorite is the sweet honey sauce. In addition to the wings, the restaurant also has some great wraps. It is a great place to go if you are a sports person because there are a number of big screen TV's where one can view football games or other shows. It is a great place for some casual fun.

#6- Chevy's

If you are in the mood for some yummy Mexican cuisine, Chevy's is the place to go. When you are sitting there, you feel as if you are actually in a restaurant in Mexico. The wait staff is very friendly. They have some great meals. I really recommend their kabobs. There fajitas and burritos are not bad either. Another cool thing is that they will actually make fresh guacamole while you are sitting at your table.

#7- Billy Bobs Steakhouse in Sam's Town

This restaurant is a great place to go if you want to eat some great tasting steak. I have gone there for Thanksgiving dinner and my college graduation dinner. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is very rustic and western looking. It almost felt like I was in a saloon in the Old West. While the number of items on the menu is somewhat limited, if you like steak and are in the mood for it, this is the place to get it.

#8- Capri Italian Ristorante

Over the last twelve or thirteen years I have lived in the vicinity of Las Vegas, I have been to Sunset Station Hotel/Casino on many occasions. Even so, I had never been to this Italian restaurant. I went there this past May while my family was out for my college graduation. It is a very pretty restaurant. There tables are placed in an indoor courtyard with lemon trees. It really is beautiful. The food is also really good. The pasta dishes are really good. They also serve veal, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, and more. It is a little pricy, but the food and scenery is definitely worth it.

#9- Red Robin

Red Robin is a great restaurant to get a really good tasting burger. As a matter of fact, the restaurant specializes in making 13 different delicious burgers. The burgers range in price from $8 to $10. In addition to the burgers, they also have some great soups, chicken, and wraps. When I went there a couple of weeks ago, I had their steak sliders which were also delicious. Overall, their prices are fairly affordable as many meals are $10 or under. There are a few locations in Las Vegas including one in the Galleria Mall in Henderson.

#10- I Hop

I Hop has always been one of my personal favorites. I go there at least a couple of times a month. They have some of the best pancakes and French toast around. One of my favorite dishes is their cream cheese filled French toast topped with strawberries and strawberry sauce and whipped cream. Of course, they also have lunch and dinner items including burgers and chicken fingers. They also have a hearty country fried steak meal for breakfast and dinner. You will always leave full and satisfied.
