The Biggest Tips of the Season

Ladies, it may be hard to believe with the cold snaps and ice storms, but Spring is quickly approaching! With Spring, there always comes a wealth of new beauty trends- and 2010 is no exception! Try these new trends that we've been seeing around the globe and around the city.

Red lipstick is still huge in 2010, but be sure to pick the right shade or the look will be completely lost. If your complexion is more pink, reach for plum shades, but if you have yellow tones, you will look best in reds with a brown base. A favorite pick: Clinique Different Lipstick in Angel Red

Huge lashes. Try the tube mascaras that create individual tubes around your lashes and lengthen them for a glamorous look. An affordable option is L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes mascara

Shimmery, dewy skin is always in. Spring is a great time to have that glowing complexion. Pick a bronzer or blush with a hint of shimmer.

Smokey eyes are not going anywhere, try pairing them with a neutral lip color for an extra pop. Pick two colors that work well with your skin tone, one bold color and a complementary, lighter shade.

Gold tones of eyeshadow are huge this spring. Don't go overboard- the effect should be shimmery and eye catching, but not overbearing. Pick a shade that is not too much darker than your skin color. Try CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shade in Gold Sizzle or Benefit's Cream Shadow/Liner in R.S.V.P.

Freshen your look with peach lips, which Spring is welcoming with open arms. Peach glosses are light and feminine and oh so pretty on most skin tones. Try Bobbi Brown Brightening Lip Gloss in Peach

Bold eyeliner in bold colors- lose the blacks and grays and reach for green, blue or violet for a night out. Boldly go where eyeliner has never gone before, be heavy handed in crisp lines to capture this powerful look for 2010. Try L'Oreal HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner in Violet Volt

Don't forget the lipliner! A few tips to be sure your lipliner doesn't become overpowering and unattractive: Lipliner is best when not overdone. Pick a color that is one or two shades darker than your lipstick or lipgloss and be sure to blend it onto your lip so that there is not a defined line visible through your gloss.

Try these trends and you're guaranteed a second glance.
