Top Miniature Golf Courses in Southwest Washington

Phillip Chan
Some of my best memories involve miniature golf with friends and family on warm summer evenings. Right across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon is the populous Vancouver, Washington area with three quality mini golf courses. If you are in the area, try out these fun places for putt-putt by yourself or with friends!

Golf-O-Rama
Historic Highway 99 in Hazel Dell, Vancouver, Washington is loaded with fast food eateries, used car dealerships, and crummy motels. However, the best mini golf in the region is to be found here, located at 7120 Northeast Highway 99 in Vancouver (zip code 98665). I grew up playing mini golf at this spot many different times and had a blast every time. It is situated right next to the busy Interstate-5, which sort of spoils some of the atmosphere, but it certainly can still be fun. I have also eaten at the little restaurant inside the clubhouse several times, I really remember enjoying their milkshakes fondly! Prices are fairly reasonable and this place offers two different courses to choose from. For first-timers, pick the course on the left, since the one on the right (when facing the interstate) has an absolutely awful "volcano" hole that will ruin any good putting streak you may be on. Have fun, call Golf-O-Rama at (360) 694-4719‎ if you need to ask about parties or reservations, and watch out for the awesome "cannon" hole!

Cosmic Miniature Golf
Near the Vancouver Westfield Shopping Mall is this fun mini golf course. It is in a slightly better part of town than Golf-o-Rama but it offers slightly less variety than it's Highway 99 competitor. The courses are a little more well-kept and detailed, but the prices are higher than Golf-O-Rama. There is also a YMCA just a few blocks north, plus a Burger King and McDonalds if you need a after game fast food meal!

Glowing Greens
Situated just across the Columbia in next door Portland, Glowing Greens is a fun place for the whole family to play miniature golf. Check them out at 509 Southwest Taylor Street, Portland and call them at (503) 222-5554‎ for larger parties. Glowing has its own website, visit it here. Unlike the previous two mini golf courses, Glowing is an indoor course with an emphasis on the "black light" effects designed to make the place look super trippy! Don't let it mess with your golf game, it still is a fairly usual mini golf course once you get over the glitz, but it is very well designed. Prices are higher than some of the other outdoor putt-putt courses but sometimes indoor mini golf is the only option, especially on typical rainy Pacific Northwest days.
