This is a story of a cat named Milo and a dog named Otis. Soon after Milo is born, he meets Otis, and they become good friends. Curiosity gets the better of Milo, and he accidentally starts to have adventures. It seems that Milo is one unfortunate cat, and gets into situations and gets out of them, only to land into more trouble. Otis is not far behind from Milo, and eventually catches up with him. Soon after, they find mates and help each other while they make it back to where Milo and Otis originally lived. This is one of the best movies with animals, because it shows friendships that can last through anything. The scenery is beautiful, and there are many touching scenes. And best of all, there are no humans in this movie!
Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)
A family has to leave on a trip and they can't take their pets. The family leave their pets on a ranch, an old dog named Shadow, a dog named Chance, and a cat named Sassy. Shadow starts to wonder about one of the family members and heads out to find him. The other two reluctantly follow him, and the adventure begins. What is interesting about this movie is that the animals have voices, and can talk to each other. Sassy is hilarious, Shadow is old and wise, and Chance is the youngster. They each have their own personalities, and getting through forests is not that easy with these animals. In the end though, they manage to work together to get closer to their owners.
Babe (1995)
A pig is won in a fair by a farmer who guessed his weight. After taking the pig home to his farm, the pig named Babe lives with a female sheepdog. As time goes on, Babe gets to learn about the animals, and that humans eat pigs. He also makes a few animals on the farm jealous of him, since the Farmer likes Babe. In the end, Babe wins everybody over with his persistence. In this film, most of the animals talk. They move their mouths as they talk as well. This movie has amazing special effects, great characters, and a good story. No one thinks that a pig can do anything, until Babe proves them wrong.
Cats&Dogs (2001)
A secret dog agency has one of its members tricked by a cat, so a replacement is sent. The young puppy replacement is inexperienced, but he finds ways to foil the cats plans. I remember seeing this film when it came out. It was hilarious! Cats were always trying to gain the upper hand on the dogs. The voice acting is great, and so is the interaction between the animals. The spy gadgets are pretty cool, but only if they know how to use them! It does have the typical smart cats and some dumb dogs, but the script works well. This is one of the classic movies with animals.
Benji (1974)
A small dog with no home, Benji has many friends where ever he goes. They care for him and feed him when he comes around. Benji meets another homeless dog, smaller that him, and they like each other. Even thought this film is old, it is filled with great music. You can't help but to fall in love with Benji! Such a small little dog, how could you not care for him? I have yet to see this movie, but I always here nothing but good things about this film.
Lady and the Tramp (1954)
A husband gives his wife a gift, a new puppy. They name her Lady. After awhile she gets in trouble with some cats and is taken to be muzzled. She breaks free and runs into some shady-looking dogs. As stray dog named Tramp sees the situation and helps her out. Afterwords, Tramp takes Lady on a tour of the town. They get into trouble, and Lady starts to like Tramp. In the end, they have a litter of puppies and Tramp has a new home as well.As far as movies with dogs, this is a classic. Two dogs from different sides of the track fall in love, despite what everyone thinks of both of them. Who could forget the famous spaghetti scene? When they are eating spaghetti from the same plate and accidentally kiss ? This film might not have the best animation, but the story is all there. This is one of my favorite films with dogs.
