Clintonville
I am going to be biased about Clintonville because I lived there for a year and a half. I feel that it is the perfect community for young families and progressive minded individuals. Clintonville is located inside Columbus City limits. You have all the benefits of a small suburban community with the added bonus of paying the City of Columbus taxes.
Clintonville is nestled right along the metro parks bike trail. My house was literally four doors down from the park and a half mile away from the famed Whetstone Park of The Roses. The park is a 13 acre landscaped garden with over 11,000 rose bushes. If you ever visit Columbus this is a site to behold in late spring.
Another benefit of living in Clintonville is the Farmers Market. You can literally walk down to High street and see vendors from all over the state of Ohio selling freshly grown produce, meats, eggs, and even sweet potato pies! On selected weekends they even have tables set up for local artists.
German Village
If you are into historic homes then this is the place for you. The homes are beautiful and the layouts are amazing. If you opt to live in German Village be prepared for a smaller yard.
German Village is a 233 acre neighborhood listed on the National Registry of Historic Neighborhoods complete with its own visitor center staffed by community volunteers.
German Village also hosts an amazing array of stores and restaurants that you won't find anywhere else. If you plan on visiting German Village on your tour of the best neighborhoods in Columbus don't forget to stop buy The Book Loft, Katzinger's Delicatessen, or Cup O'Joe to fully enjoy the local flavor.
New Albany
New Albany proudly boasts that they are the oldest newest community in Ohio. Why? The town was founded in 1837, but has had a large number of million dollar homes built in the last few years.
If you have ever bought anything from Bath and Body Works, and who hasn't, you will find that the address on the back of bottle is New Albany Ohio. Why? Well New Albany is not only home to some of the most beautiful new builds in Ohio, but also to Limited founder and Philanthropist Leslie Wexner.
Leslie Wexner developed this community outside of Columbus Ohio with the "New Albany Company" and hundreds of feet of white picket fence. It is now home to the upper class of Columbus Ohio.
The school system in New Albany is amazing. There are eight buildings that grace a one centrally located campus. This campus puts a lot of college campuses to shame.
New Albany is also home to the distribution plants of two of Leslie Wexner's former brands Abercrombie and Fitch and Tween Brands.
These three neighborhoods represent the best of Columbus Ohio. Please if you ever have a chance to visit check them out!
