Top NFL Rookie Wide Receivers to Watch in 2010

Williams is looking to prove that he should have been one of the first receivers taken in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has been making plays all preseason long and his shown his big play ability with some magnificent catches. He should be an excellent target for budding quarterback Josh Freeman and could give the Bucs' offense an extra, much-needed spark that it has been lacking for several years. Don't be surprised if Williams is one of the best overall players to come out of the '10 draft class.

Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys

Despite some injury concerns early on, Bryant has given the Cowboys plenty of reasons to be excited about his future. He has rare play-making abilities and has the athleticism to make plenty of highlight reel catches. Will need to work a bit on his attitude and attentiveness, but has all of the tools to be a dominant NFL player in the near future. If he sees the field early and often, he could be an instant threat alongside Miles Austin, which could create a devastating receiving duo.

Victor Cruz, New York Giants

After bursting his way onto the scene for the Giants with a three touchdown effort against the cross-town rival New York Jets, Cruz has been a name that everyone is talking about. With an outstanding burst after the catch and the ability to make defenders miss, Cruz is looking to take the NFL world by storm and continue to prove that you don't have to be from a big-time school to make a big-time impact in the NFL. Hailing from UMass, Cruz could prove to be a nightmare for opposing defenses if he continues to improve and play at the high level that he has been to this point.

Riley Cooper, Philadelphia Eagles

Since entering the college ranks, Cooper has been a supreme athlete who can be lightning in a bottle. At Florida, he excelled at being the go-to-guy for Tim Tebow, and could do the same thing in Philadelphia with Kevin Kolb. He has outstanding speed and agility, and can make acrobatic catches with ease. He has proven himself to be a big-play receiver, and with a solid preseason, could easily have earned himself some impressive playing time in his rookie season. With some solid coaching and help from the veteran players surrounding him, Cooper could become a key component to the Eagles' offense.

Eric Decker, Denver Broncos

Even though the Broncos used one of their first-round draft picks to select wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, Decker could be the newest Denver receiver to keep an eye on. He had a knack for making catches and consistently being the number one option at Minnesota, and could do the same thing in a Denver offense desperate for some weapons in the passing game with the loss of Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins. Look for Decker to step up and be a big target for quarterback Kyle Orton (or Tim Tebow) this season.

Honorable Mention:

Seyi Arijotutu, San Diego Chargers

After joining the Chargers as an undrafted free agent, Arijotutu has excelled both on the practice field and during games. He has shown big play ability during the preseason and has proven that he can be productive. With the uncertainty of fellow Chargers' wide receiver Vincent Jackson's future, Arijotutu could come in and take over some of the production in his place. It will come down to what happens with Jackson as to whether Arijotutu sees the field or not.
