Top Picks for Buying a Plus Size Skirt

Ann Garrett
Are you one of those ladies that are just like me? With more of you to love but nothing ever fits just right? As a plus size woman I have found that the designers think we want to wear a potato sack and somehow make it look good. I'm not sure about you but I don't like the potato sack look. I want to be able to put that skirt or item of clothing on and feel good, sexy and comfortable. So, if you are looking for the perfect skirt for work or that special date you have coming up and you are a Plus Size girl like myself, then look no further. I have done the research for you. I have researched several different stores that carry Plus Size skirts and have come up with some winners.

1) JCPenny's currently offers their customer's free shipping on orders totaling $99 or more. You have to enter the coupon code which is found on the Plus Size home page to receive this offer. The offer is only good until October 25, 2008 so you better hurry. JCPenny's currently has a special on their Plus Size skirts, which is good if you are looking to be fashionable and save money. And let's face it who doesn't like saving money? Their site offers 35 different skirts in several different lengths (knee, ankle, above the knee, mid calf and more), several different colors (Black, Plaid, Black & White, Brown, White, Red, Multi Color, Blue, Denim and more), several different textures (cotton, denim, rayon, chiffon and more) and several different styles (pencil skirt, A-Line, Straight Skirt, Long Bias Cut, Taffeta Skirt and more). The prices for these skirts are reasonable and range from $14.99 to $52.50.

2) Macy's is another store that is currently offering free shipping on orders that total $99. The coupon code is on the homepage of their site. They are offering this as a way to celebrate the companies 150 year birthday. Macy's skirt selection is small but they do have several that are must haves. Brand new to the site is a Michael Kors animal-print pencil skirt for $99.50. This skirt is made of a cotton/spandex blend for that purrrfect fit. They are currently offering this skirt in sizes 14W to 24W. Another skirt that I absolutely love is a Jones New York Signature Wool Plaid Skirt for $83.30. The size range on this skirt is 14W to 22W. The other skirts that Macy's offer range in prices of $19.75 to a whopping $159.

3) Jessica London offers 26 different plus size skirts with a price range of $12.99 to $64.99. They offer a slimming suede skirt for $69.99 that comes in mink, raspberry cream and black and come in the following sizes: 14W to 26W with 26W costing $10 more in all three colors. There are several knee length and several mid calf length skirts on their site. These skirts are beautiful and look very flattering which is what us plus size girls are looking for. I would highly recommend shopping Jessica London for your plus size skirt needs.

4) Avenue offers 14 different skirts with sizes ranging from 14 to 32 and prices ranging from $24.99 to $99. One of my favorites is a Metallic Herringbone Skirt for $39.95. This skirt comes in Black/Silver and sizes 14/16 to 30/32. This skirt would be cute for the office or for that special date you may be going on. Avenue has several different pencil skirts and a couple pleated skirts that offer movement without the bulk. All of the skirts on Avenues site are geared toward making the hips look smaller which is a good thing.

5) Bloomingdales offers 12 plus size skirts with prices ranging from $68 to a hefty $218. They offer floor length to just above the knee length. Just about every one they offer comes in black and the sizes range from 14 to 24. Most of their skirts would be best for the office and only a couple would be great for that special night out.

6) Old Navy offers 14 different plus size skirts with sizes ranging from 16 to 30 and prices ranging from $9.99 to $29.50. They offer mostly knee length skirts. They have pencil skirts, panel skirts and pleated skirts. One of my favorites is a low rise pleated skirt for $25. This skirt would be great for the office and for a date. Another of my favorites is a dark wash low rise denim pencil skirt for $9.99. Again this skirt would be great for a date or for the office, however it currently only available for the ladies who wear size 30.

Well, those are my picks for the best places to find the best offerings of plus size skirts. So, there shouldn't be any reason why you "can't find anything to wear". Remember some of these stores offer money savers but you have to hurry because time is running out on those offers. Now get on out there ladies and shop your heart away!! Happy shopping!!
